OEM BiX Control Module and Ride Sensors

So the shop I called about coding my car for the new BiX said that I will need a control module and front and rear ride sensors. I haven't read anything about that on here... can anyone shed some light on this?

Is the control module they're talking about the ballast?
Is there a problem with not having the ride sensors?

I told the guy at the shop that I wouldn't be putting in the ride sensors... he said that they would have to program the lights to 0 or something like that.

Tell him the only version coding you want in association with the BIX is the Xenon=present setting. Everything else is only relevant if you have the auto-leveling feature.

Does the autoleveling feature come standard on OEM BiX cars?

Yes, but it would cost a lot of money to add it to a car that didn't come with it. Just tell them you want xenon set to present.

The self leveling is mandated for use of BiX in Europe so you don't blind oncoming motorists - & policed. In some US states I understand it's also mandatory but no one seems to bother.

If your car does not come with the correct wiring harness it is not cost effective to retrofit auto levelling & headlamp washers that come as a package.

BiX are the best thing I specified new on my car.

I have 55w HID in reflector housings in the Benz and the 135i has OEM BMW Dynamic Bi-X (auto-levels and each lamp turns with steering).. and the Benz has the better lighting characteristics.

The stock halogen housings are some of the best halogen headlights I've seen, but the BiX are even better (at least on the Benz). I can't wait to get them in my new car.

Yeah I've driven a 2007 C230 with the Bi-X package. And the 135i has them. But I'll take my 55w HID kit over either for these backroads around my house. It simply has more light (likely because of the higher powered ballasts).

And yeah, the stock housings are pretty impressive. They manage the light from the 55w HIDs flawlessly. Stock beam pattern.

LILBENZ230 - do you have aftermarket 55W HID's? If so, have you experienced any light errors in your MFD?

I didn't have any errors with the 35w kit I had in my old car before except when in DRL mode.
