15mm spacers on 2006 230SS

Will they fit on all four corners? Stock 17" staggered wheels with factory size tires .

hey man,

they might be TOO aggressive.
I think 10mm is probably the max you can go. I believe the stock offset is 30/32+ for stag setups.

i was about to find out on the rears, a set of 15mm spacers came in with extended bolts, but....... 14mm bolts ...so close yet so far away....but just judging visually , itll look hot in the rear ....but why do H&R spacers wont go on the front wheels? its like the bore is slightly bigger than 66.6 ???

From what I can tell, at least on the '06-'07, a thin spacer on the rear might cure the appearance of the larger fender to tire gap in the front. If you look closely, and at fender lip level, it appears that the rear isnt noticably lower, the wheels just have too much positive offset.

Who makes a 10mm spacer, complete with extended wheel bolts, including a central hub shoulder, that can be bought as a pair?

ichiba would the company. They have different listings for front and rear. Heres a photo of my rear lowered.Im confident 15mm will work here , it will be a limit though, maybe even 235 tire width reduction ( will need new set soon anyway)

Thanks for the referral!

From their site:

Wheel Spacers are made from Aluminum/Magnesium alloy. They are incredibly strong and very lightweight. These are hubcentric spacers that is specifically made to each vehicle; will fitted on your vehicle's original hub perfectly without any gap. Wheel spacers move the wheel out from the hub, effectively widening the stance of the vehicle and lowering its roll center. This simple modification increases lateral stability, which in turn provides improved handling & greater safety.

I thought that was kinda funny because widening the track of your car by even 30mm will have such a small affect on the roll center height that it is negligable. Maybe 1mm.

And then i thought about it harder... the only way it would lower the roll center is if the roll center was already below the ground. For most street cars, it will actually raise the roll center slightly.

They are pricey, but I think I might take some measurements and order a pair for the rear.

Any reason for not going with the Eibach spacers? I can probably get a deal on them through the shop that I used to work at.

i think by saying " lowering its roll center" they dont literally mean lowering , but because the distance from center of the vehicle to the outer most contact patch is increased , it is in fact distributing the weight more throughout the vehicle. it sort of reminds me about this lesson at the gym. we had a discussion about how 1 45lbs plate is easier to lift on each side of the barbell then 4 10lbs plates. another words its one plate vs. 4 smaller plate, but becasue there are 5 of them , they are being pushed out more away from you. the weight is distributed more across from the center ( you) to the outer most part on the barbell hope that helps in the way

I was running 7mm on et38 and I was rubbing like crazy. I think with 12mm you are just asking for it.

Good Luck

i'm running 15mm and 12mm hubcentric spacers but there for 19 x 8.5 w204 wheels that had a et of 42...so i'm running a et of 27 and 30 without any problems. I think 15mm on 17's is too much.

Can anyone confirm that the stock funnel wheels are 30/32mm positive offset?

A set of 10mm spacers on the rears would make them +22mm offset

Karo, what tire size where you running? If you run a narrower tire, you have much more freedom with the offset selection (and a narrower wheel would need less offset to sit flush with the wheel lip.)

ok, first off , why is larger hub bigger then rears? i tried fitting the 15mm H&R spacers onto front hub , and it it only fitted onto the point where that collar on the spacers starts ( whih i think it tapers inwards, making it essentially 66.2 or so) . As far as rears, i had a little rub under load ( 2 people in the car) but thats nothing a little fender rolling didnt cure.

I am running 13mm in the rear with stock 07's and H&R springs. The drivers side rubs when I hit bumps so I would recomend going a little bit smaller.

Are you running spacers in front? If so, what size?

Not yet. I do plan to put 10mm spacers up front eventually though. I think that would be a suitable size.
