I'm averaging 9.9L/100km since I got the car 5+ years ago. I do mostly short city trips, with some highway driving.

I don't race it, though.

I have an automatic coupe and average about 12-13 l/100km urban, 8-9l/100km highway.
My girlfriend has a manual coupe which averages about 10-11l/100km urban and 8-9l/100km highway.

if you have an automatic, what youre getting is average - good.

I drive a c200k (m111) auto and only 13l/100km around town and 9.8 on motorway. Can't believe the c230 is doing around the same what hp is in the c230

'03 sedan w/automatic here. Over the past 10K miles, I've averaged a solid 22+ mpg in small town driving (i.e. a lot of stop and go), so 22/235.2=10.7. If I keep it to ~70mph on the highway I always get over 30 mpg (7.85 liters/100km). I drive with it in 'S' mode, as I'm a believer in coasting to the stop signs/lights and it rolls "free'er" with your foot off the gas - in 'W' mode the tranny will grab as you slow down w/foot off the gas. Also, the manual tranny's seem to get a couple more mpg based on the reports I've seen here.

c230 w/m271 is 1.8L supercharged, right around 190 hp/ft-lbs (forget the conversion to KW/Nm at the moment). I will most likely never mod the engine/exhaust just because of the fuel economy this car gets...

M111 = 192hp 200tq
M271 = 189hp 192tq

I don't know the conversions but my car gets 25 mpg average in mixed driving consistently. Every single tank lands somewhere in the 25.1-25.9 range. On a long highway trip recently with 5 adults and speeds of 85-95mph cruise the car averaged 26.2. On a trip to FL with 5 adults in June and 95F weather and 85mph cruise the car averaged 27.4mpg. On a trip to SC in August, 70-80mph cruise, the car averaged 30.1mpg.

Hope this helps.. someone can do the converting.

'13 C250 coupe & Porsche 911
'07 C230, 2.5L V6 7-spd a/t, getting around 9.3L/100km in mixed city/motorway driving.

By the way:

1 mile per gallon = 235.214583 L per 100 km
(0.6213712 mi = 1 km, and 0.2641721 US gal = 1 litre)

So mine is 9.2L/100km average consistently

8.9L/100km on trip 1.
8.6L/100km on trip 2.
7.8L/100km on trip 3.

So my car is doing pretty well.
