Drew, looks like you could still tinker a bit with it and maybe get a better beam pattern yet. It's not bad, but not as wide as my car. Other than that, it looks like my car from the front.

I probably will mess around with it a bit. I had to leave town the next day, so I didn't change the aim too much except to level. The cap-like things that cover the horizontal adjustment wouldn't come off for me.

I personally liked the two-toned effect. I'm not sure that they make the bulbs for the parking/city lights. You could probably do LEDs to match, though. They do make the high-beams (they use the same H7 bulbs as the low-beams) and, of course, the fog lights. I can't say enough how happy I am about these lights, and the price is absolutely amazing! I would recommend them to anyone!

Nate, I'm curious about your lights... What are your HIDs, 6000k or 8000k? I'm afraid to put something that blue on for fear of ticketing.

8000k - Here is a better pic with the hids on.

They are really not that bright so with the headlights off they look really blue.
(Ill try and take a better pic)

^ mine kinda look like that
from up close my 55W 6000K looks blue, but as you back off it looks more white. Next to an OEM Lexus, BMW, or Range Rover the lights look kinda blue though

I wouldn't go past 6000k for 55w or 5000k for 35w. I actually wish I had gone 5000k with my 55w. To me, nothing looks more ricey than blue lighting. The blue LEDs and stupid-high Kelvin rated HIDs make me throw up in my mouth a little. It has its place, though.. on a cop car.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that thinks 8000k looks like absolute crap.
i would put 6000k into a depo projector to simulate a quality OEM projector
but in a reflector, i wouldnt go anything higher than 5000k, because the nasty blue color becomes to obvious and overwhelming.

looks like a picture taken with a crappy camera or wrong settings - all of the color from the headlights has been washed out due to improper iso and shutter speed.
that picture would describe a different story if it was taken properly and with your car next to a car with factory xenon lights - it would show how outrageously blue the lights are

I have 6000k 55w and they're a bit too blue for my tastes. I got them because DDM told me that 55w ballasts wash out some color, so 6000k 55w would be close in color to 5000w 35k. Blue lighting is sooooo ugly and tacky.
It's a fact that most usable light is 4100-4300k. Going beyond this really makes little sense. If the idea behind HID is more light, why go to such a color temp that you have less usable light than halogens? I wonder what driving in the rain and at night is like with some 8000-10000k lights? That's a weakness of even 4300k OEM HIDs, which is why cars from Lexus have yellow fogs.
5000k is my recommendation for anyone reading this thread. 6000k is okay in 55w form. Above this and you start to look like an 89 Civic at night and not like a Benz.

...I went w/ 8k because I didn't want to blend in w/ every other grandpa on the road w/ oem zenons. I figured that if I'm parting w/ money why not set myself apart from people who's cars came off the lot w/ HiD. Not to mention an 8k HiD looks completely different through a projector than it does on some DUB inspired Cheby with halogen lamps.

2002 Mercedes Benz C230 Coupe
Ready to buy the DDM kit..but have some questions for those who have already purchased and installed them before I bite the bullet.
First of all, whats the difference between the Apexcone-Raptor kit and the Digital Slim ballast kit? Is the only difference the ballast size?
Im planning to install them on an 02 coupe...has anyone in Canada done this? (makes a difference because in Canada we use DRL's and we see errors sometimes when others dont). Do you need the error eliminators to be installed to prevent errors or does it work without them or do we have to set Xenon to present?
So many options..so much confusion..lol.
Thanks for clearing this up guys. As always..this forum remains to be the best source of info for MK modders like us.
