The Modus can change version coding? Maybe that would be worth buying.

The Snap on is still expensive unless you work on your car constantly and need to use for codes and what not. But I heard it can simulate many different diagnostic systems. STAR being one of them

Yes, but is it as expensive as buying a hacked laptop with star and all?

the one my mechanic uses costs almost 8000$
Snap on 8.2 ELITE
you can do a quick google on pricing.. possibly cheaper versions of it available, and used etc.

STAR with developer mode (which lets you SCN code and do a lot more stuff with coding) goes for 1500 - 2000 in the market. This includes all cables/multiplexer and laptop.
Comes with DAS, EPC and WIS.

The noob that I am I was still able to do the xenon = present, turn off seat belt chime, Netherlands setting without loosing panic button, reset transmission adaptations (my favorite), reset throttle, and a couple of more stuff. In developer mode everything is in German so i'm having a hard time (probably should get German to English dictionary). Basically Dealer uses Regular and the Development in Germany uses the Developer mode thus why being only in German.

I forgot to post why I stated the above. Yes, STAR is a cheaper and better alternative. I agree with Drew.

reset transmission adaptations (my favorite), reset throttle,
Karo, is the Reset Throttle your talking about the same that can be done by holding the accelerator pedal to the floor with the key in the ON position, then turning off and waiting 2 minutes? and by resetting the transmission adapations, does that just clear it? or can you change how the car learns them? i'm trying to get mine to simply not adapt, hense i'd never have to do the reset trick.... is this possible to do with STAR?

and good find/bump nate, i think im gonna order the kit, 25$ is hard to pass up

There doesn't seem to be any way to turn off adaptations. It has been looked into many times. Sorry.

Sometimes when you put the HID kit it starts to flicker. From what I have read and have seen this is a hit or miss. Some people do get them and some don't. Since our vehicles had the option for Xenon this means the computer can be enabled so that we don't get flickering on non Xenon cars (Xenon=Present). Or you can get eliminators. I would install the kit and see how it goes. On my car I never had flickering issues but still enabled Xenon=Present (basically tells computer that this car now has Xenons).

If you want white/blue then 6000k is better. If you want blue then 8000k, and purple then 12000k.

Well I have DDM Tuning hids in my car. Its a 55w 6000k setup and its slightly blue but very bright none the less. Search up Oneofakindtrini's C280 4matic thread .. I have a picture of my hids.

I agree with karo sometimes you'll need error eliminators sometimes you won't, but it'll be worth it take it to the dealer to have it set xenon=present unless you live neaar Karo.

Just a quick question on you all running the DDM Kit. I been waiting to install mine for awhile now. I have the DDM slim 55watts w/error box. Do you know if the C class is reverse polarity. I don't want to find out the hard way when I try to install them in my W209.

I have the same set up and just installed mine on a 07 W203. The wires going to the bulb arent red & black like you would expect, which is fun the wires are yellow and brown instead..This link was pretty helpful even though its not the same kit https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-product.html ..your kit should have a light blue and a black wire if i remember correctly, the blue wire goes to the yellow one and the black to the brown one. Thats how mine is wired, works perfect (no flicker, errors or other BS)

I'm trying to got to hids on my 2007 w211 and I got a few questions, hope you guys can help me:

1. Original halogen bulb is h7. Should I go to ds2 and look for adaptor for them or the h7 xenon is absolutely the same? Some people said that the h7 is longer and blind the oncoming traffic more.
2. Do I need to get the present=xenon even with the error eliminators?
3. Are there are better options than ddm for higher quality conversion kits that warm up almost instantly and do not harm the electrical systems? I don't mind spending a bit more for something better.
4. Is there any viable option for high beam conversion?

thanks
