stop-tech fitment question

hey guys
just purchased the 4pot 332mm stop tech bbk to replace my sticking calipers. the salesman sent me the measurement diagram to check fitment, but i was wondering if anyone had experience with this kit with a 19" brabus monoblock vi with spacers. im going to take the wheel off to check in the next few days when i have some time but was curious if any of you knew for certain. I would imagine they would if they cleared the stock 2 pot sport brakes no problem...

You should PM FrankW with matters like these. He's one of the few that would be able to tell you.

So the new BBK only increases rotor size by 7mm? I thought it would be more of an increase than that, but I don't know much about BBKs. I measured my stock rotors at 325mm (12.8")

Oddly enough, the brochure for the 2005 C230 says it has 345mm rotors (13.6").

Depends on the brand I think. And it's not only about rotor size; primarily I believe it has to do with weight cutting and design.

Like I said, I don't know much about BBKs. It makes sense, now. The stock brakes are very, very heavy.

It depends I think. The 04.5 had 4 pistons, along with the C350. Then the 2005, I believe there were some that had the 4 pistons, and some with 2 pistons.

Just 04.5, like Mu said. That said, the 2005 C230 Sport brakes are very robust for a car of its size, weight, and especially power.

i chose the 332 mm rotor kit for the 4 pot st-40 caliper because the 355mm kit was $800 more expensive and the stop-tech guys said they actually prefer the balance of the 332 mm kit/st-40 combo over the larger option, especially if you are running OEM rear brakes. either way, it should be a great improvement to my current situation w/ brakes, and should shave some unsprung weight off the front end.

a quarter mile at a time
how many times do we have to go over this?

2004.5 - 4-piston fixed calipers w/ 12.9" rotors
2005+ C230 - 2-piston fixed calipers w/ 12.9" rotors

C32/C55/C350 - 4-piston fixed calipers w/ 13.6" rotors.

I doubt you'll have any clearance issues if the wheels didn't have any problems with the stock 2-piston calipers.
