Eureka! finally found reset instructions for W204.
Thanks Glyn.
I will try this as soon as I have the chance. I've
saved a copy for convenient future reference; will print the applicable
page.
Once again thank you.

We do our best to post everything we can lay our hands on. There is very little on a W203 that is not covered on this forum. Some consolidation is required and has been previously handled under the DIY sticky's. Johnand is now embarking on a new effort to achieve this & we must all help.

I have to say I always read and never really posted much. But thanks to this site I was able to save probably over 1500 in DIY's over the last year.
I plan to do much more and gotta thank everyone who takes the time to post pics, details and for the most part, a fun experience. Perhaps for my next mercedes. I want a used c55 maybe in 2 years or less... Would seem more reasonable then now..

I struggled with this for 30 minutes before I realized the door had to be closed. I was following the instructions exactly as stated in the pdf and in the video on youtube and it wouldn't let me get to the menu till I shut the door. lol gah!!!

On newer models you have to clear that service overdue message by hitting "OK" & then proceed. We have no OK button. My cars have never been overdue so I don't know what to do. Hopefully someone will chime in.
One other thing. Make sure you close the door & THEN put the key in the ignition.

When I get to step 5-6, nothing happens after hitting the reset button.
Is step 5 the screen where it shows how many quarts there are? Only other available screens are the VIN, Voltage, and ESP Dyno
It's a 2004 C230 Kompressor Sedan

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to reset the service indicator on a 2003 C180 Kompressor, I have followed the instructions in the pdf (Models 203 and 209) up to step 5.
I don't get the "Oil Type" menu in step 6. I can only scroll through three screens i.e. "ESP DYNAMOMETER TEST" , Voltage and another screen that shows SW ver Oil levels.
thanks.

I managed to reset my service interval by following these steps...
1)Turn on the ignition switch to position 2.
2)Press button (UP arrow) or (DOWN arrow) on the multifunction steering wheel until the "service due message" appears in the display.
3) Press and hold the RESET button for about 3 seconds until this message appears, SERVICE INTERVAL? RESET WITH R BUTTON FOR 3 SEC.
4)To confirm press and hold the RESET button until you hear a signal.
The service indicator now displays the reset interval.

On my 2009 SL 63 the pdf works until I get to the wrenches and service b in 17 days. I hold the reset button down for 5 seconds but it never goes to the service reset screen as stated in the pdf. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Surely you don't have to wait until the expiration date to do the reset.
Thanks,
Bob Hill
