It's a complete fraud. It's a way for them to trick you into thinking "ohh a free diag" but all they do is recommend stuff that they haven't checked out. Flush your brake fluid and go there. They will probably say you need a brake fluid flush just like they said for Patrick.

just got home dude. seems to be ok everyone. but i kinda broke the breather hose though.. grrr... my finger just tapped it while installing the sensor and the hose going to the reservoir fell off. it was weak already.. boohoo.. karo and min saw it just now. anyway on the way home when i was near already i floored it and my temp did not exceed 90. also new observation. when i have the A/c set on 64 degress and i press AUTO the fan goes to full speed. but when i try to turn on the a/c manually its at slow speed. dunno.. im thinking it might be a vacuum thing coz theres a leak on the breather hose?
its number 8 on the pic.
while im replacing this, since ill lost alot of coolant already im gonna flush my radiator again with mb coolant this time.

ugh.. parts are arriving this friday.. i have this gut feeling i need to replace my head gasket.. can the star do a leak test? am i suppose to get a CEL if i have a bad head gasket? when i was trying to go home last Wednesday when the hose broke i ran out of coolant. good thing i had a half gallon in my trunk. so i pour it all in then i top it off with water just to get home. exactly 1 mile before i get home i get a check coolant lvl again. and there was smoke everywhere. i thought and hope its the water/coolant dripping on the headers. so i put some more coolant on the car earlier and started it coz i had to move my car. as it was heating up white smoke came out of the exhaust with water dripping. i then thought its normal coz its cold start. the car reached 76 degrees but still white smoke w/water came out. AM I JUST PARANOID?! or is there something wrong? its not an expensive part but its one hell of a job to do..

when you get the hose part fix it. Then if you are loosing coolant then maybe you do need a head gasket.
Best Scenario - Nothing is wrong and it was the crack that you always smoke.
Bad Scenario - You did blow a head gasket.
Worst Scenario - You cracked the head
I once cracked the head on my first car there was white smoke everywhere. If you get a little white smoke and nothing after that you might be cool. Did you drive it after you saw the smoke? Try driving it for a little while during the day to see if you get the white smoke.

You are not having much luck - dealer can do a leakdown test or they can check for combustion by-products in the coolant which you have just lost.

PISSED OFF!
i waited for a week for my part and when it get here they sent me the F***ing wrong hose! plus they dint put in my address right so i had to borrow someone's car to go to UPS to get it. dammit! now the car will be sitting for probably another 2 weeks. i give up man... car will probably be for sale after i fix this BS..
