Thumbs up Would a C7 manny shift knob be of any worth to anyone?

I finally got around to ordering a polished aluminum shift knob from Renntech. According to Bob, you can use the same boot, which I hope works out. I should have it by next weekend.

Can you swap out the stock one for this one? If so, would anyone want my C7 knob? But, you'd have to attach a sign that says, "I either ordered my car too soon for the C7 or I was too cheap to get the best option package available for the C230" to the center console. :p

Boss: Tommy, why are you so late returning from lunch?

tommy: I'm sorry, I was just out in my car polishing my knob.

I guess at your age, you should just be happy to be able to perform the job, let alone being caught. :p

Young, I'm leaning more now to burgundy/silver, so the matching thing still applies.

Burgundy and silver leather? In a blue car?
[speechless pause]

I never saw a burgundy and silver cow
and I never hope to see one.
But surely if I ever did
I'd rather see than be one!

I'm hoping that the contrast will wake me up in the mornings.

I take it that it wouldn't be your choice?

Well, if anyone has any better ideas, I'm all ears. Caveat: I do not want black or on the other end, very light colors. Well, Rick, I'm waiting on your interior design ideas!

Bos, it's the gray.

It's also assuming that I can get the Renntech one working properly.

I don't know - shipping plus $20? I'm not into this to make money, but having a pizza for my trouble sounds fair.

BTW: did you get any updates from UUC?

tommy, I was also very curious about the burgundy and silver interior. I think that would look great with white, Brilliant silver or Bordeaux red. May I suggest a dark blue and silver. Dark blue and light blue or dark blue and bluegrey are also worth considering. There should be a rep at CST who could make suggestions. If you know any artists, interior designers, or graphic designers invite them along to CST to look at the color samples and give advice.

I might take it off your hands if you can get everything working correctly. As for UUC, I'll post a thread to bring everyone up to date.

heh, i'd give you my professional opinion, but i'd need to develop a 3d model so i can change colors... at $80/hour... hmmm...never mind

i really liked the c32 colors of charcoal/darkdark blue and charcoal silver w/ the contrasting stitching. but its hard for me to decide w/out actually seeing the samples.

here's a link to the SL interior - i like the dark/light color combo
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...0&pagenumber=2

ps don't ask interior desecrators anything :p

OK, I agree

I went to the mbusa website, and did a build you own on the c32. The charcoal/deep blue is really nice. I guess that you people are telling me that I should actually try to do a classy interior? Huh! I'll have to think about that.

I really want the silver, though. The e55 looks great with it. How about a happy medium? Inside: silver, outside, dark blue. That way, the offending red is removed, but there is still some color in the interior. Thoughts?

tommy, that sounds good. Will the side air bags panels be blue or silver?

I like what the designo interior has done by making the top portion of the panel one color, then the lower and armrest the other color. CST said that they'd have no problem with that, so the blue up top, and silver at the bottom.

I wish that Kwik would post how his CST job went already. I just got my NJ refund, so I'm just waiting on the IRS, and I'm ready to make my masterpiece!

you're going to CST in hatboro? i think they are not open on weekends so its inconvenient for me to visit them to get samples.

i just called and he's sending me swatches (complete) so i can see them. the question is, if i'm cargeeky enough to scan them in to create textures and photoshop my car's interior to see it!
(ooh, eileen's going to haze me about that!)

Horsham? God, no. Though I am going to the parents' house in Doylestown on Sat., mostly to razz my dad about the Uggles not being in the superbowl. Too bad - it would be nice to give a crap about who wins.

No, the install would be at the CST in Rutherford, within spitting distance of Giants Stadium.

Say, Junior, it's not all about New York, OK? You folks in the "corridor" have commanded all the attention for the last 5 months (both the bad and the good). I should think you have a passion for the Patriots, if nothing else. Of course you already know who I'm rooting for.
