I have a non C7 Black car that originally had Oyster cloth. I have a black steering wheel and a black shift boot.

It appears on the C7 Car shown in the other post he got an oyster wheel with an oyster shift boot? is this part of the leather package or the C7 package??

It must be C7. Mine is black with oyster cloth interior and my shift boot and steering wheel are also oyster. I noticed that before too. It's funny they don't put it on the list of features for C7.

I have recently taken delivery of a 2002 c230k - Orion with Oyster leather, c5, c7 6-speed. I placed my order on November 19th and it arrived on Jan 8th. I was expecting the steering wheel and shift knob to be black or dark grey and MB decided to make a color change mid-model year without notice. The steering wheel I got is a color that matches the dash top section(see pics of Avlis' car) its just like that. I love everything about the car except I am really dissapointed that they changed the interior colors without even a whisper to anyone. The dealer was as surprised as I was. Any Ideas on how to rectify the situation would be welcome. I want all the parts that I was expecting to be dark grey to be dark grey. YOu have to be sitting down to hear the retail prices of the parts involved that need to be changed.

Just my two cents... I like the fact that the wheel/shift boot matches the dash top on the oyster interiors. I don't think Black would be a good substitute, now would "dark gray." The color on Avlis' car looks "dark gray" to me.

My old Ford Probe GT had mediun Gray interior but a black steering wheel/column, and it stuck out like a sore thumb.

I agree. I posted to the other thread. The sedans already have this wheel/shifter match to the upper dash. I think the third color would look out of place. It must be a coupe thing. Maybe they were saving money by having one wheel color (different wheel than the sedans), then they realized the color issue. You might like it more in time.

Wait a minute. The upper dash is also dark grey. So, it wasn't just the steering wheel color. They decided to make the upper dash/steering the complimentary color like that in the sedans. The initial post made it sound like only the steering wheel and shifter were black.

odd.... then again the car didnt come with a cd player (kias come with a cdplayer for christ sakes)
