Thanks for the warm welcome.
Great to hear no issues with warranty with mods.

Has anyone ever done a mod that MB has claimed that the mod has voided the warranty?

I could do some small cosmetic mods.

I am pretty happy with how the car looks now.

Thought of changing out the front gun site for flat badge (a little less conspicuous).
Would like changing out the 17 tires for 18 or 19 and lowering her a bit.
Another mod I would like to do is the Argos BT interface.

About the grille.
Not sure I like to advertise the mercedes symbol with the CL grille.
I mean it looks Great.....

But I feel some non-MB owners, have a resentment for MB owners. Some have a negative preconcieved notions of MB owner.
1) Snob. (lets rip off the hood ornament and show them what we think)
2) 2 bit hood flashing the bling, bling. (stay away from that thug before he starts shooting)

This is just my opion, of what I think they they are thinking.
I could be wrong and I hope I am wrong.

People have got to get to know MB onwers before making a preconceive notions.

My dealer voided my suspension warranty since I have coilovers. I was still able to convince them to replace the control arm bushings under warranty though.

So......in all honesty now.
Was MB correct, in its diagnosis that the mod was the root cause of your suspension issue (having to replace the control arm bushing)?

Or was MB just trying to get out of the warranty by using the mod as an excuse?

Either way how did you convince them to do the repair under warranty?
I am guessing that you must have a pretty good rapport with the dealer.

A on getting MB to do the repair under warranty.

I'm not sure if the c/o's were what caused the bushings to fail, but I was able to get them to agree that the bushings are a common warranty item and prone to failure regardless of stock or aftermarket suspension. It's a cheap fix, and much more cost effective for them to keep me a happy customer.

Update....before vs. now pics

Just put in some Tein S Tech springs. The manual said it would give me a 2.3 in. drop but the drop I got was about 1.5 inch only. I'm not looking to slam it but I'm thinking a half inch more would be nice. Do you all think once the springs settle in and sag a bit I'll get my .5 inch?

Here's a before shot (all stock) and a now shot. What a difference some wheels, a little drop, and a grille can do!

Nice! Did you self install or go somewhere in Fresno to get it done? You might get another 1/4 - 1/2 inch after the springs settle in the next 500 miles or so.

I went to European Auto Repair on Gettysburg/Blackstone. They are pretty good and so far (two visits) they have been great.

Out of curiosity, what did they charge for the spring install?

2002 C230 Coupe
Hey guys,

I've had my coupe for a couple months now, and shamefully have only just around around to posting some pics to share.

So far from the tons of info on this board I've done the following: updated the tails and blinkers (from Steve and Wanda), 15% tint, purchased AMG sways and ordered an ASP pulley (I should have time to install both in the next couple of weeks).

Anyways:
