I bought a T720 cradle, but never used it, I just stick my phone in the bin below the radio, just one wire hangs out the bottom of the phone.

Yes, it does. A3 (the bottom plug) is what you need - see the diagram attached. It is ground activated (mutes the sound when connected to the ground).

From the pinout diagram there is a speed dependent control for volume,I dont seem to have this feature in my Audio10,is this something that I have to set/program.
How do you activate it.

BTW The speed dependent vol is not actually at the pinout specified on the back of the radio in our cars. It is incorporated in one of the multi-signal busses, (rather than on a single piece of copper). Yes its sensitivity can be set in DAS software.
steps are -6dB, -3dB, 0dB etc. -6dB is alot (say 1/4x), 0dB is none.
I like the setting at -3dB, and then remove the ambient noise mic.
(there is no setting for the mic, so one can just unplug it). I feel that together they provide too much attenuation.
Steffen, you are absolutely right, one can make the phone jump out of the bin. My car is an automatic, so it gives me something to do with my right hand when I am racing, "play catch the phone on its way to the back seat"
Also just to be clear and if anyone cares, when mine mutes it just says "Muted" not "Phone", ... but I have the MB phone "deactivated". It is handy to know when the phone is "still" connected.

my 6610 has an amazing handsfree function...
you have to force yourself and the other party to try and speak in simplex (as in not full-duplex.. you cant speak at the same time) but microphone picks up very well and the loudspeaker is nice and clear.. all while the phone is sitting in that centre console tray
really want to research UHI when it comes out.....

I was hoping if anyone can inform me how I can obtain an after-market cell phone kit to be integrated into my steering wheel buttons and my stereo. I have a Motorola V300 phone. Any information will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.
YOU CANNOT integrate any other phone than the v60 and the Nokia 6310i in the mercedes at the moment. A Universal Phone interface is suppose to be out in europe but still, this is limited to certain handsets only. Your v300 will NOT work.
Acuually, the Nokia kit is not expensive. The phone is around 100 dollars on ebay. The kit is a couple hundred. I think around 4-5 hundred. Much much less than the v60 kit. The UHI kit going to be released should be around 2 grand.
not sure about other countries, but i got the UHI as standard equipment on my C200 which was delivered on christmas eve. However it is not as good as i thought. The only phones supported are the V60, 6310i and the Siemens S55. There is 2 more phones that will be supported however the cradle kits wont be released till March.
For those outside the USA, as I guess the C-classes don't come with Nokia's in the U.S.. Has anyone upgraded their car mobile phone setup from a Nokia 6210 to a Nokia 6310i?

there should have been a nokia6600 upgrade, d 6150 that came with the car is too prehistoric and a shame to flash around.hehehehe.
btw, do u guys leave your phone connected to d adapter all d time??? b4, i usually remove d phone when im out of d car coz im afraid that itll dmage some electronic stuff if left there for long while d car is unused.

If you leave the phone in the car it will switch itself off...unless you want it to stay on a speicified time, in which case type NACHLAUFZEIT and the number of minutes you want it to stay on after it.
I don't understand. Does this allow you to hook up a phone to the car even if it doesn't have a phone option or is it just for hooking up non-MB phones for cars that have the phone option?
I have signed for pre-order. Very interested! I use GSM phones, only 3-band + GPRS + BlueTooth, so if they pull it through, I'll be the first to send them my money!
