why do we keep getting threads about this? well comfort vs sport or whatever makes no difference at cruse speed on Rpm's. That sounds low to me but that is good better fuel economy. do you have the 5speed or 7 speed. i think for 4matics the 7speed was only available for 07 and the 5 speed for all other years. any particular reason you ask about this or just curious?

It’s 5 speed automatic. Reason is because seems too high to me for 3.0L engine and small car as C280. My Dodge Grand Caravan with V6, 3.3L engine and 4 speed autotrans. runs at 2200Rpm and Dodge Spirit 1993 V4, 2.5 engine 3 speed autotrans. runs 2600Rpm at same speed.

Keep in mind your dodges also don't have Variable intake and exhaust timing which means the MB at 2800 is most likely more efficient then your OHV or DOHC non VVTA cars, which is why they do lower RPMs on the highway. Most small modern V6s Ive seen do between 2700-2900. I have a C230 M272 2.5 (which is the smaller version of your engine) and it does about 2800 on the highway at 75, I have a 6 speed manual though...or should say had....but that for another thread.
