Double hinged wiper arms?

Does the W203 have double hinged wiper arms? If yes, why? Is it so they can clear the water off the windscreen when driving at autobahn speeds?

The wiper arms are articulated ( 2 actions vs 1) so they move in a wider swath and thus clean the windshield better. I guess that would be double-hinged.

there are no problems with this design. I've never seen someone do this much research before buying a car Just pull the trigger

Actually, there is a 2007 C280 4 Matic with 63k on Carmax going for $18,147. It's nice but wish it were black or dark blue. I think I'll buy it if this semesters tuition doesn't bleed me dry.

Yeah it's pretty funny but I don't blame the guy. There's nothing wrong with doing some homework before a big purchase. I wonder how different things would be if everyone did this much due dilligence before buying a car.

I dont blame him either, but worried about wiper blade failure. I dont think that should be the deciding factor

The wiper arms were never a deciding factor for buying. In fact these types of innovations stack in Mercedes' favor. I was just curious.

There are still things I find out about my car that I find cool. I'm an engineer so I geek out on the technical stuff.

The OE wipers are pretty interesting. I remember swapping to a differently designed bosch wiper blades on my coupe and the wiper would skip across my windshield if I were traveling over 80mph. Never had that issue w/ OEM so I went back to OEM.

If Yes, where to buy?

Best wiper system I've ever had! Amazingly efficient, and fast as hell.

I always thought it was cool yet looked so silly, because all the old people in FL aways drive with it on high when its drizzling. Made me wonder if the blade wasnt gunna shoot straight off, it went so fast.
