Angry F**K, I am so Fu*k**g Pissed!

Guess what guys!

Dealer Just called to inform me that there was a mistake on the order and that my car arrived w/o a pano roof. I am so pissed! I mean is it that difficult for them to order a car right?

They offered to accomodate me with another MB while I wait for my car to arrive ( it would take 8-10 weeks)

What should I do Guys?

I would drive their car for 8-10 weeks. As long as you don't have to pay for it.

Sorry to hear the dealer ordered it incorrectly. What else are you wanting them to do? Sounds like they're reordering your vehicle, and giving you one to use in the meantime. Sounds like a fair solution to me. What am I missing?

Well, Here is what your missing:

Up here In QUEBEC, Canada, the weather is nice only from April til September, so i'll only get a few months to drive the coupe before putting it in storage for the winter!

Do you now see why I'm pissed?

sorry to hear that...but if can drive their car for 8-10 wks (average of 250 miles per wk)...you save about 2000-2500 miles on your car.

I know you are pissed....i will be if my dealer do that to me. but i think their solution is fair....

and i think they also shorten the delivery time (if they can deliver the car in <2.5 mths)....i bet some other owner will hear...oh....your shipment is delay by 3 wks...
hehe

I would have taken that deal right away! what kind of car are they going to give you? Just do it...like someone said, it saves the mileage you put on your car anyways...

ahhhh, just take the car w/o the pano roof. At least youll have a car to enjoy through the summer.

Seriously though, reorder the car. Have them through something in to compensate you (all weather mats/key chains/free details/ect...) all the while driving one of their cars.

Shop around a few days before accepting the deal. These cars are not moving fast anymore and I am betting there is one on a lot in a nearby city that would almost exactly match your order.

If I were you I'd call every dealer in Ontario, Quebec and even New Brunswick and see if you can find a car matching your order sitting on their lot. My bet would be you could, then demand your dealer make a trade with that dealer. Usually dealers hate doing this because they'll have to give up something good in their next allotment to get the trade, but its their mistake, they should be willing to deal now.

With their offer though, I'd take it and drive the **** outta the loaner, then you'd have it all outta your system by the time you get your car!

Actually, dealer has already checked to see if there was any other C320 coupe that matched my order. There is only one, and it's just arrived at the port in Halifax. The problem is that first of all, this car is probably already sold ( My dealer will call the dealer that ordered that car) and second, This coupe is brillant silver, which is quite a change compared to Obsidian Black!

Dealer is gonna call me back tomorrow morning!

if they give u an MB loaner until your car arrive then I dont see the problem (u u lose 2 months of driving your actual car...big deal...i figure u're stuck with it for at least another 3-5 yrs anyway). Wouldnt hurt to ask for mats and cargo net or something

There is a harm, the loaners are insured with the dealer and I unfortunately just realized the all too real possibility that you can have an accident :-(. Others have mentioned that the deductibles on loaners are as high as $2500, and that would suck to have to pay. A loaner for a couple days, not worried too much, a loaner for a couple months.... I'd almost rather be in a rental.

It is highly unlikely that you will find another dealer with a car the exact same as yours. It's just too rare with the combination of obsidian black, 6-spd, and xenon. I would do one of two things:

1) Drive the loaner and wait for the car to be re-ordered. It sounds like they are being very good to you.

2) If the roof is not that important to you, I would try to get some money off and buy the car that they ordered. The dealer will probably have a very hard time selling this car as it is quite expensive for a coupe and doesn't even have the roof. They will probably hold this car for a while and lose money on it when they finally do sell it. So see if they will take the loss now just to get rid of it. They should consider it like you are doing them a favor. It might hurt resale value because of no roof, but if you get a good enough deal, it shouldn't matter too much.

Good luck.

You should definately drive the loaner. Talk to your insurance agent about obtaining an additional rider on the loaner to reduce the deductible (or call CAA). By using their loaner, you will be saving kilometers on your new ride, or better, grind them on the deal! Make then give you an '04, or a bunch of upgrades (Bi-Xenon) You could save yourself a pile on the car. We are getting slaughtered on depreciation (more than an average Benz) and you should capitialize upon your opportunity. Using the loaner will give you the opportunity to see if you like the car or not. If I had it do do over again, I would not get this vehicle! Not because it isn't a great car, but because it is just not what I prefer with regard to a sporty look (I used to drive an SLK). The C is a ton more comfortable than the SLK, but not nearly as fun to throw around (not to mention that the roof went into the trunk).

BTW... no biggie on the roof as far as the seasons go... When you get your 'C' delivered, I am sure you will be smiling at all times of the year when you look up.... I DO!

Sheesh. Seriously, relax.
A lot of people have much bigger problems than whether or not their new Benz has a sunroof or not. It's not anything to have a coronary over.
As a fireman, I just saw eight families lose EVERYTING they had in an apartment complex fire. Most had no insurance.
Now THAT is a problem.

Yeah, their problem for having no insurance, there's no excuse for stupidity, as well as there should be no remorse for stupidity. You can turn around and say "but they were so poor" and I'll turn around and say my appartment insurance is $200/year CND, that'd be $10 USD/month, a 'poor' excuse not to have it.

Bud, don't relax, you have a right to be upset. With this guy's attitude it'd be like going into McDonalds and ordering a meal, only for them to forget the fries... and to most of us, what makes McDonalds is the fries, otherwise we might as well go to Burger King, Harveys, Wendy's cause really, there'll all just hamburgers right?

You missed the point. What I'm saying is that there are bigger problems in life and better things to worry about.
I'd be a little upset, too. But I'd go on, accepting the fact that cursing, yelling, and freaking out isn't going to put a sunroof in a car.

The loaner was a pretty decent deal, I thought.

Respectfully, if Hugedrive were in this fire situation right now, I'm sure that the lack of a sunroof would be the furthest thing from his mind. But he's not. So your post about this is completely irrelevant. There's just no need for it.

This problem about not having the sunroof is probably one of his biggest worries right now, but are you trying to say that he should just accept the dealer's mistakes just because other people have bigger problems? That's stupid. He has the right to get the car he ordered.

I had a similar issue, except the dealer would not put me in a loaner car while they reordered the correct car. Here's my story... https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...threadid=25097
