i cant remember exactly. I know the projector fits into the stock two top holes and i think we just jbwelded the bottom and top two screws. I know the fx-r projector is shorter then the stock depo projector so we spent most of the time trimming the projector shroud to fit the fx-r projector.

Looking at the picture, I don't think he mounted the bottom corner screw because it does not align into mounting hole. Also If u can remember correctly, Did he trim some of the projector metal on the bottom part or cut down the bottom corner mounting hole on the reflector housing because on the picture it looks like he doesn't have the holes there anymore. Appreciate your answer. (I don't wanna go cutting down everything to make it fit or **** up)

no we didnt mount another screw on the bottom. We just jbwelded the whole bottom half of the projector to the reflector. Jbweld is pretty strong stuff so it should be ok. Just remeber to jbweld the screws as well and nuts because the vibrations of the car will make them come loose later.
We might have slightly shaved part of the head light cover piece that goes in, so it can go over the projector. The head light shroud does cover most of the projector so it should give you some room to shave some the bottom piece.
It would probably be easier if you can post a pic of what your problem is. Its kinda tough trying to remember from memory. I just remember we spent most of the time shaving the projector shroud and i spent moding the projector to give more color. The installation itself was pretty straight forward.

Here is two what I done and What I need help to be done.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/54271152@N02/5042226701/
I cutted some of the house reflector to allow the protector to go all the way in.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/54271152@N02/5042232745/
Top left mounting hole is not aligning yet
Not sure what I need to cut to allow the top left mounting hole to correspond with the top left projector hole yet.

It doesn't look like your giving yourself any room to adjust the twist. Your going to run into lots of problems with alignment if you have it sitting on the bottom of the housing and its not perfectly flat.

ok i get what your saying. Have you checked the projector itself? When i got my fx-r's the holes that hold the bowl and the lens parts together weren't perfectly aligned. I did have to make one of the holes on the bowl bigger to make it align perfectly straight. No i did not have to shave the bottom part of the head light reflector. It just sat at the bottom of the head light reflector and we jbwelded like that.
You need to align the top holes together, do not modify the top holes. If you do, it'll throw off your rotational alignment. The reason our rotational alignment was perfect is because we just reused the top original mounting points.

wow sounds like a fairly easy retrofit. On all the retrofits I've done, getting the twist correct was always the hardest thing to do. Just being off by a few tenths of a degree was noticeable. That's pretty cool, hope it turns out good for you rock.

yeah the rotational alignment is the more difficult and can make or break a retrofit. The vertical alignment is easy to fix. This setup is probably the 3rd easiest retro i ever done. The sonars were literally pretty much bolt on and reseal.
This is why its really important you mount the top two holes to there original location or your rotational alignment will be off.
The hardest is installing projectors into head lights with only reflectors and no projectors like you see in civic head lights.

great pics...looks like it turn out well. You understand, when i wasn't exaggerating when i said it took 20hrs. If you add more washers on the bottom half of the projector bowl...it'll give you more blue at the cut off.

Quick question: I know all projectors are created equal, but what causes so many other (asian) car projectors to be SOO much brighter and cleaner w/ the cut off? Is there no way we can make that sort of change on our stock projectors?

There different hid projector manufacturers. The japanese cars, usually use the japanese hid projector manufacturer, stanley...like honda, acura, and infinite
German cars usually use german manufacturers, like hella and bosch, mercedes and bmw.
This isn't the absolute truth, but generally true.
Stanley, makes the best hid projectors in terms of color and sharpness. The s2k and tsx projectors are all stanley projectors.
If you want to know more, i suggest you surf the hidplanet.com forums.

One Japanese car that has crap BiX in my opinion is the Lexus SC430. The low mileage one that I had use of earlier in the year in Dallas had awful lights compared with my Merc. Poor throw distance & they through light all over the place. I think their lens angle causes trouble for them.

why do the washers add a blue hue? i have like a yellow-reddish hue to the upper edge of my oem projectors with 6000k philips ultinon bulbs.

oh no im not really interested in doing this. Not a fan of tearing apart my projectors just to add washers. i was just wondering why washers do that.

adding washers changes the distance of the light shield and lens from the bulb. The change in distance can produce different color at the cut off.

oh ok...interesting. Ya i think i've got soemthing in my houseing cuz what i've discovered is my driver side projector seems to be throwing a weird pattern off over top of the passenger side beam cut off...
