Sorry for hijacking your thread.
I have just installed OEM BI-Xenon on my 2005 c230 sedan.
How come i dun see any Error message, I thought Halogen Headlight use 55W and OEM BI-Xenon need 35W? Should i go to Dealer and have it changed? Or it will be fine without changing it?
Thanks in advance.

I did not set the xenon=present. (I did not bring it to the dealer, I installed the headlights by myself.)
Is it okay to run 55w on my OEM Bi-Xenon>

You will get errors/problems. Do the Xenon=Present.

The toughest part is finding someone (either MB or indie) willing to do the mod with the MB Star Diagnostic computer. You ABSOLUTELY need to have this set or your lights will flicker on and off, making them useless at night.

Welcome to the bi-xenon club.

Post pics - Don't know what has happened. Should just plug in & require Xenon set to present. Maybe some late cars had a plug change?

^ That is correct.

On each headlight, there are 2 plugs. One is for power. The other is for Auto-leveling. They look similar but the # of pins and the plug width are both different. Good luck.

Hella does NOT make Bi-Xenon's for the W203 Sedan (I believe Hella makes the Bi-Xenon's for the Coupe). I'm sure that has something to do with your problem.

The only manufacturer of the Bi-Xenon for the W203 Sedan is Automotive Lighting, which used to be owned by Bosch. Bosch recently sold AL to Magneti Marelli.

And if you want help, you need to take pictures of your Hella Bi-Xenon, along with closeup pictures of the socket and harness that don't plug into each other.

Re-living an old thread.

So the only way to set xenon present is to go to an indie or dealer? Any chance you can do it without the star diagnostics programs?

Also I was told that the levellung system on the OEM bosch bi xenons are not compatible with 2001 up to 2005 due to different methods of levelling. The older cars use vacuum system while the newer use electrical? Any chance to get it to work?

The way to get the xenons=present setting is to.either go to the dealer or find someone in you're errs that has the STAR machine and cab do the setting for you... don't think it can be done without it...the second part of you're question, you will have to wait for someone else time chime in about but I think some members with like '03 w203's have BIX but don't take my word on that one lol

In situations like this it helps to update your profile with your location, so people in your area can help point you in the right direction to find an indie or STAR system.

Sorry, I don't think there will be much people in this forum that lives around me. However, I have already located an indie not too far away..

Will wait on the motor/levelling part though..

From my research on the us models the leveling system is the same from 01-07 on the us w203's cars with xenon lights It is all electric. The difference is that outside of the usa you guys have knobs that adjust height on the light switch inside the car. I don't know much about that system but assume it is what uses the vacuum system.

Yes we have a levelling wheel down here, and I think mine is kinda leaky since its making a hissing sound if I put the lever on the higher clicks..
