Specific 2007 C230 Sport questions

Just obtained low mileage (30K) super clean and well-maintained 2007 C230 Sport. Love the car and design. Am fairly mechnical inclined. Need some advice and, yes, I looked thru the threads first.
-How do you replace the cheap plastic shift knob on the automatic transmission? Any good knob sources?
-Driver side front side marker light is out. manual says to take to dealer. Why? Process appears straight forward. What don't I know and am missing here? What's the process and problem area? Have obtained W5W/ 2825 bulbs.
-Currently has OEM recommended run-flat tires installed but they seen/are really loud. Thinking of replacing them with standard low profile tires which I hope will be less loud and smoother riding. Would put couple cans of tire fix in trunk. Any recommendations/thoughts?
-Really surprised on how slow this car is from dead stop! Any easy/cheap way to get a bit more horsepower pep off the line? Cruise to Sport mode not much improvement.
Thanks

didn't know Mercedes used run flat tires? The side marker is easy there are many threads about how to replace the bulbs. as for performance increase there are no cheap performance gains for the 06-07 models. Your options are ecu which is expensive and not huge gains and sell car and get something else.

Yes, the ’07 C230 is indeed a dog “from dead stop!” Did you conduct a thorough test drive before having “obtained” it?

Have not changed the bulb yet. Wanted to wait for some advise.
And car was obtained from family estate. Choice was sell it or keep it. Liked how it looked so kept it.

ECU reflash or look for a w203 sprintbooster. The car's computer is setup to automatically tell you to go to the dealer or workshop when something goes wrong. Just change the bulb yourself.

The lenses on the marker lights just pop off. That was one of the first things I addressed on my '06.

Hope this helps!
