Question W203 heated seats, Is it possible

I have a question that I think I know the answer to.

Is it at all possible to install the facotry heated seats into my 2K6 c230?

Is the car already wired for heated seated seats? Can I just buy the heater pads and front switch panel? I would say it's impossible but, you never know.

Use the search option...this question had been answered before.

All I remember is it's not an easy job!

Not impossible at all. Had it done in my car.

You need the heating pads and a new switch row just like you said. You might need a fuse too.

Installing the pads is a lot of manual labour. I had Sunil do it but after seeing him do it, I would do it myself next time. The rest is easy.

If you are interested in doing this please let me know. I have Recaro seat heaters that I intended to put in another vehicle. I reupolsterd the seats and never put in the heaters. I'll make you a deal on them

Heat pad is sewn into and part of the w203 seat cover.

Search is the BEST tool here - as people have gone after market, installed rear seat heat (SUNILP) and installed OEM front seat heat (CaptPaul)

Good luck!

For best heating, you would want to buy new covers with the pads sewn in as BF_JC230 suggests, however, this is significantly more expensive then simply placing aftermarket pads underneath your current covers.

You will need a new control panel for the heated seat controls (the panel with all the buttons below the center vent), new seat covers (bottoms and backs), and a wire harness.

I did it in one day once I had all the parts. You must take your time putting the new covers on so you have a smooth finish (no wrinkles). You do have to pull out alot of things like the center console, seats, and the center stack (radio, climate control, switch panel, ash tray) in order to route the wire harness.

I have had the retrofit for several years with no problems. I got the harness and the seat covers thru Steve. If you do a search, you will see other people who have done the install. I do highly reccomend that you buy the MB Maintenance CD before you even begin to see if you are up to it.

Hello.

Im digging this 7 years old thread. :P
I have recently bought leather interior with heated seats for my w203 and I also got myself panel switch. But I struggle to get a wire harness to get things connected. Does anyone know where I can get one? I swear I tried 20 breakers and none of them had it!

I installed aftermarket heated seats for $40. You don't need to replace the leather, if you put a heating element under the leather it works great. In fact, it's too hot on the hotter setting.

Soon I will be changing over to the factory switches. It will cost $40 for a switch panel and $80-100 or so for the wiring harness. So all in you could do it for $175. The dealer has to sell you all new leather so it costs more through them. They have no choice - can't sell aftermarket kits.

Thank You for reply guys.

As I mentioned earlier I already own heated seats and panel switch.
All I need is original wire harness to get them connected.

MB dealer told me there is no separate wire harness for heated seats and I will have to buy main wire harness which will cost me 1.5k

He also said there is different versions of them?

I don`t know what they are smoking there but its definitely good thing.

I have 2002 w203 1.8 petrol (c200 kompressor)

Part number would be very helpful.

Thanks
