Where can I get a cold air intake for my 2007 c230
I was browsing the web and only came across 2 cold air intakes for my c230.
I was wondering what I should be spending and where I should buy them from.. Also I was wondering if they are easy to install on your own, or you have to get them done professionally?
Thanks in advance!!!

cool another manual trans, well i'm going to be the first but not the last one to say this but leave the stock intake alone drop in some k&n filters and that's as good as its gonna get.

I just want a deeper sound when I rev, and a little better gas milage i guess..
Did you notice any difference with your filters? where'd you get them from..
And yeah manual in this car is amazing. The clutch is so smooth, I wish it was more common in MB

I'll qoute a guy (rudeney) from another place and just to add if you go for the sound then go for exhaust.
"""""" Other than looks, it's a waste of money. With dual intake paths and two huge air filters, the V6 engines in the W203 are definitely not being air starved. Also, the factory intake ducts pickup in front of the radiator for about the coolest air you can get, plus benefiting from a "ram" effect with air forced in at highway speeds. This aftermarket intake sits behind the radiator, thus pulling in hot air and also not benefiting from any forced air. I'd save my money for something more worthwhile, like a transmission service and a new set of plugs."""""""

Keep in mind that you aren't removing the filters and piping when you add an intake like that. Your factory airbox is still present and still functioning. If you install those pipes with cone filters, you're actually just adding a new filter point for the air. The big problem with intakes like that is that they are not shielded form heat either. They are more exposed to ambient engine temperatures since the snorkel is no longer directional.
The idea of a cold air intake is simple. Cooler air = more power. Basic rule is for every 10degrees you can lower the temperature, you gain 1% hp. I really don't see how adding a restriction point for airflow and more heat will help the engine any.

Yeah, Mercedes effectively have like a stock cold air intake, even a bit of a ram effect, with the way they pull the air in from the front of the hood.
It's a solid design. You really can't improve on it.

I've actually been a little interested in the idea of cryo intakes. They're basically air coolers for the intake. It doesn't increase the velocity of air intake but it does increase the temperature and density. It's actually somewhat similar to misting an intercooler with water and or NOS.
On a side note, it's totally not worth it. Each kit requires a bottle of gas that helps cool the air. You'd have to refill it to continue to have a functioning intake. IMO that's just the lame filling in a weak-***-sammitch.
You're better off only driving your car at sea level and when its cold.

On my previous turbocharged car, the spool was appreciably more audible, but on these vehicles, I speculate you'd see no improvement in, well, anything!
Not to mention, ~$300 for $20 worth of garbage is robbery.

To OP,
The trottle body is at the back of the engine, 2 short plastic pipes will do nothing. A custom setup might work well but I recomend you doing alot more research and reading, (dont bring that weak **** up in here ) someone has made a CAI using the battery box.

Incorrect a proper intake on an NA will sound louder then the exhaust. Turbo's just get in the way and muffle the intake.

Gotta work things out w/ Renntech first. Still waiting for another shipment from them to arrive on the 24th.
Thought about making my own but it's too expensive to 1-off. If I send it overseas, they'd prob rip me off and sell it from under me after 3 months of development.
Anyway, been distracted with the body work needed to trim my bumper to accommodate the new exhaust. Will update my thread asap.
Oh and ISLES, sorry for the thread-jack. :bows like an asian:

I'm going to throw myself out there and say that I think my cold-air is completely worth it. I have the RAM-Air that's linked above, and it sounds great. Mike, I did remove my stock filters, so the only restricted filter point is at the foam filters (which has been more than enough for the past 20,000 or so miles). The sound it makes it's what was worth it to me. The 2.5Ls have a very nice sound when you hit 3,800 rpm, and the intake brings it out beautifully. Performance wise, nothing was really gained (nor did I expect any gains). When I put my stock set-up back on for a couple days, I really noticed the difference. The sound of the engine is MUCH more muted, and there seems to be let pickup in the very low end. I also noticed that, since putting the intake on, the car does not downshift at low speeds as much as it did stock. I'm not saying that the intake is going to turn your car into anything spectacular, nor will it have the same effect as it would on some older car with a poorly designed intake, but for the $100 I bought mine for, I feel I got my money's worth.

I love it when purchases are justified more by buyer happiness. Not being sarcastic. It just shows more appreciation for our mods and backs up choices.
If it brings a and a giddy little giggle to you once you've tired it out for the first time, it's totally worth it. It's like feeling boost for the first time, or hearing your first intake/exhaust with the windows down. It ranks right up there with being genuinely called "cutie" by a beautiful woman.

Hey Drew you have pics of your setup? I heard Ram air adds significant power because it's min 1psi forced into the engine.

I don't have pictures on hand, no. I'll try to take some tonight if I can put my car in the garage, or I'll take some tomorrow.
