Kleemann dealers are not allowed to charge below retail price.

I might be interested if they can charge about $100 (i think thats fair) for install otherwise whats the point of groupbuy

Been there, done that. They don't like to budge on price. If price is a concern, get the ASP pulley and have Linh fly up for the day and install them for $50 for the 6-spd, $75 automatic and cover his airfare, he's an authorized ASP dealer and can probably get you a group buy price. What is it now, $29 each way on Jet Blue? At least the ASP has the factory damper.

Yeah I rather fly him in than paying conversion techniques $300 to install a pulley

ASP can be reached at asp@aspracing.com or (281) 261-5811. Ask for Lee, he can let you know pricing. Last I've heard is $250 if you supply the factory pulley and $650 if they do. List price on the factory pulley is $310 but I paid $270 at my local dealer. Expect to wait a few weeks for them, MB was back ordered on factory pulleys last I've heard. You'll also need to buy a belt, it's a standard 6 rib 56" belt. Pep Boys should have it for $19. It's odd but ASP won't provide belts.

The advantage to the ASP pulley is it uses the factory harmonic balancer and many think that's an advantage, the downside is it weighs about 5-6 lbs. more and you'll probably get about 1-2 HP less than the Kleemann pulley but either way the boost will be the same. Like I said before 38 HP is very optimistic, expect about 25-30 HP with any pulley kit, if you get more great, lets us know. Remember to get an ITG or K&N filter, they are good for another 3-4 HP when used together with a pulley.

Linh can be reached at ldnguyen1970@hotmail.com

The advantage about Kleemann when installed by an authorized dealer is you'll get their warranty. So if you have Linh install the kit, you'll save about $200, but you'll also lose the warranty. In this case, I'd get the ASP.

From what I've seen, the ASP warranty covers any damage caused by the pulley. You will have to ask Kleemann what exactly his covers but most tuner warranties only cover the pulley itself.

Let's say you had Topline install the Kleemann all alloy pulley and a week later that pulley flew off and damaged the surrounding of the engine. It would be insane for Kleemann not to warranty the entire repair because this would hurt their reputation pretty bad. But this is just my guess!

If everyone is interested, I can set up a groupbuy for installation discounts. Right now, the Kleemann pulley is on backorder. It'd take a few weeks to get them in stock and would actually require a deposit to lock one down. Shoot an e-mail to me terry@kineda.com. I had mine done at Topline and can setup a discount for everyone if we get at least 5 folks to do it.
