Down shift, check engine light, V8 grumble, power loss, and a burning smell. (20 sec)

What's there to do? Unscrew the bolts, remove the gasket maker, replace the bolt, and redo the job?

Lane, don't take it out for a spin like Drew. BTW, I admire your ability to do such work on your own. I'm intimidated by checking the oil.. and it's electronic!

Since battery was disconnected, I had to resync the windows. ESP malfunction is popping up on the screen, though!

Idle is WORSE than before, my car sounds like a muscle car
, and almost choked when it first started up. Does this have anything to do with how tight the spark plugs are? I was afraid to give the new plugs too much torque because I was told not to use a torque wrench on them so they don't break off inside the block.
Please tell me this is something that needs to be "broken in" and I just need to drive a few miles.

Sparkplug torque will effect plug cooling/heat transfer. It will not cause a misfire with new plugs & no mileage. Also remember you have twinspark heads. The chances of both new plugs misfiring on one cylinder are slim.
