New Headliner!
For those of you who remember my thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ner-piece.html
I tore everything out and bought the sunroof shade along with the whole headliner for around $810.00. Don't make my mistake and damage your headliner thinking it won't cost much to replace!
Anyway, it's nice to see some fabric above my head instead of airbags and metal.
Removal of the headliner took 5 hours, installation took 7 hours. Absolutely no fun.

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
I thought I warned you it would be costly to completely replace?!? Anyway, I'm glad you got everything back the way it should be!

oh man if I ever have to do that I'm gonna have mine lined with black fabric to match my interior. I hate that my black on black has grey liner and pillars. Kinda cheap looking.

Where are your mirror vanity lights? I really admire your ability to work on cars, Lane. I know a car backwards and forwards but I'm terrified to attempt working on one.
The new headliner looks like the same one in my car.. is it different material than the previous? My headliner seems like it would never sag.

Anyway, it's the same material. It'll sag eventually, give it a few years. But when it does, I know I'll either have already sold the car, or if I still have it, I'll have the fabric torn off and reapply something nice.
Edit: I was in no mood to cut out the vanity light holes into my crazily priced new headliner. It was 4 in the morning, no way. I can deal without them if I ever need to put on some lipstick while driving. But yes, I love to do things on my own after seeing the way my car is treated at the dealer, and how much they charge.
bdgdl, you were certainly right. Cost an arm and leg.

Great job - rather you than me. I don't have the energy for jobs like that anymore.
EDIT - they do not cut the headliner because some cars have the vanity lights built into the mirror in the visor.

I was thinking with all of that time, energy and money invested...why you did NOT install IMS...that is one option I want on our w203...The feature makes so much sense!
In WIS...once the headliner is out...it looks like a cake walk to install!
Just curious?

I honestly didn't think about it, but I know MB of Orlando didn't have one when I last asked.

Looks good! I am going to have to replace mine as well. I have already talked to a few shops and gotten some quotes, looking at $450 with the sun shade recovered as well....however the material wont be an exact color match because of the blueish tint MB uses so I am not 100% ready to do that. Where did you get your headliner from? Rm European or the dealer?
