I want to buy some projectors..
Since I have a HID kit, I was tired of the scattered beams. Sooo, i'm deciding to buy projector headlights for my car...
Would these work? or are they crap?

First of all, it's way more expensive the OEM Bi-X.
Second , if you don't take the OEM Bi-X , choose those aftermarket headlights without ANGEL EYES. (looks ugly on a MB)
My advice, don't take OEM Bi-X Are too expensive (like 5 times than the aftermarket headlights) and it's not such a big difference. I run some 35W 6000K Xenon on my headlights and the light it's way better than my normal hallogen light.
Even so, i have a friend with OEM Bi-X and it's not such a big difference, but probably it's also because i have aftermarket xenon kit.

I agree the OEM Bi-X is expensive and I could never justify the cost. There wasn't that much difference between the 135i OEM Bi-X and my C230K's 55W HID kit. But he doesn't want just a HID kit, he wants projectors.
The output on the Depo projectors is poor.

Does the C230k has this as oem? I think my lights are yelow color. So I think it's just halogen bulbs there.
So what do I have to look at to get the right setup? I seen it cost about 15 bucks. It only have the bulb and wire harness. Is this all I need to do this upgrade? Or am I suppose to get the one that comes with a silver box?
Please advise.

Yes, you need ballasts (silver metal box)

bix are not that much more. i paid way less than 600 total for mine. you have to shop around check ebay a few weeks and buy them separately. Only way to beat oem is retrofit a better projector into your housing.

While the Depo headlight assembly fits relatively well, and looks good, the projector in it is usually sub standard. as for buying a standalone projector - don't touch the cheap fleabay stuff - it's not going to improve your beam pattern anymore than current.
there's heaps of info on the forums, doing a search for projector retrofit.
Check out The Retrofit Source - brilliant shop for projectors, HID kits etc.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=24
They explain what makes a good projector here:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/trs...p#clear_lenses
and have a look at pictures and their outstanding results!
I just received my kit from Matt at TRS but am still waiting on my Depo headlight assembly for me to retrofit the projector in.

Besides, H7 bulbs aren't 'true' HID bulbs for projection. They are designed to work with reflector headlights, not projector headlights.
The only guaranteed way to get a truly quality spread of intense light with a super sharp cutoff line is to retrofit quality projectors into the clear headlight housing.

Check out my thread where I have posted some pic on my ride, I was in the same boat as you... but I am happy that I went with the Depo set up, costed my Just $280 shipped with the HID set up installed, can't beat that price and that too a D2S setup bulbs and you can choose the color. If you want I can give you the email address of the seller. He is a seller from Ebay but I negotiated a good price out of ebay. The results are excellent dont know about the OEM Bi-x but I am happy with the result, Thanks for Karo for giving me the correct advise(he knows his ****...Thanks KARO) or else I would have been down by a grand..........if you want I can post some pics of the beam pattern, they are much more clean and defined and I am definately liking the look I have also installed a PNP kit in the fogs I went with 6000k all around. I will try to get some pics and post it for you and you can decide for yourself........OEM Bi-x is definately way too expensive............plus the seller from whom I bought my depos claims that the actual lense on the projectors are German lenses......well I take his word for it cause the light out put is awasome.....will post some pics definately for all you peeps to compare........

I bout some cheap Eagle Eyes and I think the output is good. I plan on retro fitting them this winder. OEM Bix is a waste of money. I have seen them in person, I am not sure what the big deal is? Be smart and used that extra money you save on other mods.

to be honest, i think the output on the depos are horrible. But I'm use to having tsx and s2k hid projectors. When i rode with mugenx on his depo hid combo, i was afraid for his life. The foreground lighting was worse then stock and reduced the viewing radius compared to stock.
Its fine if you live in the city with city lighting. But if your in a poorly lit area, your better off with stock clear halogens and hids then a hid depo combo.
But i would PM mugenx...he had hid depos. He's now running FX-r hid projectors retro'ed into depo head lights. For him it was a night and day difference between brightness, cut off and amount of area light by the projectors.
Here's to give you a idea.

I agree with Timjin ^^^^^..........it is a very good idea to use the depo and throw in some real good quality projectors in the depo assemblies......will look into that myself.........but for now atleast the depos suffice and are better then stock.........
