Steering wheel radio control question......

i have a 2006 C230 with the standard radio. i saw that on 2007 C230's, you can change the setting in the instrument cluster to scroll through radio stations by presets.

on my 06, i can only change the stations by scanning when i press the buttons on the steering wheel.

is it possible to enable changing radio stations by preset with the dealer scan tool?

like is it a programmable feature like enabling the chirp sound when locking/unlocking?

thanks

Interesting......On my 2004 MY, I can (via the menu features/instrument cluster computer) select my steering wheels control to cycle through either memory pre-sets or just scan through to the next receivable channel. I too have the standard radio...

I am surprised this is not an option on the 06, especially if the 07 can do it as well.

I'd scroll through the options again and see if perhaps you just overlooked it ???

Keep us posted on this Thx Greg

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
From what I heard, they changed it in '05 with the facelift, but added it back to the '07. If you have it, OP, it's under Settings>Vehicle and in that menu. I talked about this in a thread a while ago, and I don't remember the outcome. I think it was decided that it must be there somewhere, but no one's bothered to use STAR on it.

Cue Karo...

I do not know much about the different between the 2006 C230 & C280. My cousin had a 2006 C280 & you can change the radio station thru steering wheel button (up & down) by frequency or by preset stations. Read your owner manual, or go to your MB dealer for assistance. You can choose either one of the two.

I'm pretty sure that deleted items like that in '05 can be restored by a STAR in developer mode.

I have to say thanks a lot for that tip! I often wondered why I could not just go through pre-sets. Thanks to you now I can, after following the instructions. This is great. Only drawback on the MB is you have to have the screen on Radio for that to work. My SAAB has dedicated wheel buttons for both stations and volume.

I only have access to star developer mode as long as I pay for the time being used so sitting down and looking around won't be very attainable from my view of access unless I know the path to enable or disable the feature.

Glyn any ideas as to where this might be in developer mode? Its kind of hard for me to search for it since I have to pay for time using this, if someone has it or can figure out the path it would be great!

THE C350
you could get a copy of star off the interwebs and then play with it in simulation mode and while it is not the best it gives you a good idea where stuff like that would be.

Interesting, any chance you can direct me on where to find the software?

Also if someone might have an idea as to where we can turn this feature on it would be great!
