just came in today and upon opening I noticed that the ballasts are extrememely scratched up...do they sell these things used or "refurbished"? I'm not too excited to not see a flawless new product to say the least.

The second set I got, shows the same. I end up just accepting the way it is. It works with no problems or as it seems so far.

my bulbs seemed to still be new...just the scratches on the casings of the ballasts... kind of bad business if you ask me.

and I just got a somewhat immediate response from them. I simply explained that while I purchased these form them for nearly $30 more than I could've from ddm tuning, I would expect a flawless product that does not look used...
Also I checked my stuff cuz she wanted pics, and I did have all the smae residue issues on the seals and bulbs as u...seems fishy. Told her I don't refute that they work (though I haven't tried) just that if they're used thats gonna limit the life span. And not like I can just replace the bulb with any HID bulb. I'd have to go back to them to do it (which I think the market should adjust by making some fitting that the bulb fits into allowing only bulb replacement not wires too)

Here's my thought, they get panasonic bulbs and hella brand ballast. I also have a feeling that all the current market's ballast are the same. They probably got it from the same manufacture in CHINA. Once these so called distributors receive the product, they slap on their logos and walla, instant HID setup. Just my thought.
Once again, I got over the scratches and such, I end up just installing and it turns on. I guess for $40 on my set, I just let it go and hope for the best. If it dies off, i guess i can get a new set since it's really not that expensive compare to what other companies/brand wants.
On the same token, I am not saying that is something one should just accept. Just that I did and it doesn't seem to get anywhere and it seems it is wasting more of my time to get it right than to just accept it. Besides, did I mention that it works.

I can see both your points but man its the moral here.
why say something is new and ship out a used item?
thats practically false advertising, I bet if I told them I was going to pay with real cash and send monopoly money theyd be pissed.
I know my commet is way off but regardless I think I couldnt live with that, I'd send them back for a replacement or my money back. my $0.02
btw mav, yea I pmed u about the breaks brother I want to paint them and got quoted at $300. I know I can save a lot of money if I go your route. Any advice?

so now I noticed that while the light output is awesome and everything works fine with no flickering etc. I do get the bulb out warning consistantly when having them on for on decent amount of time. And sometimes it will cut the bulb off and sometimes it wont. All it takes is for me to just shut them down real quick and back on and they work find but they did give an error after being on for soem time and I do have xenon set to present because I added bixenon to my car...any thoughts as to whats going on?

but 55w Kits are not recommended for smaller fog light housings because they tend to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area...
if you'd like to upgrade your fog lights to xenon lights, it is better to choose the VVME 35W single beam hid kit cos its 35w hid kits can work better in fogs than 55w.....

maybe there is something wrong with the ballast, it doesnt work well as it should be...... or check all of your installation whether you attach wires reversely or not tightly.....

? I already bought the 35w kit hence the post immediately before yours saying that I was getting errors from them...
hmm, both 55w and 35w hid bulbs fit into the fog lights

24V is the input rating. It's not for standard cars. In our cars, we have a 12v input from the battery. I believe the 24V is for tractors and other such vehicles.

yep, for all 24v hid set up, its operational input voltage is 18-26v , applied to some bigger autos like trucks . and for 12v or other set ups, their operational input voltage is 8-16v, applied to the common autos.....like cars and motocycles.....

maverik, do both lights turn off after some time? Or just one of the lights turn off.
Do you get error message for one or both lights?
