Why my w203 c200 compressor trip computer RESET BY ITSELF every day.... So every day it starts with 00 on the mileage... any idea

 

Are you talking about the AFTER START one? Cause that resets after 4 hours of inactivity.

 

Its covered in the manual. About time that thing gets read.

 

Ahahaha. I've never read the manual, but I learn quite a lot reading on the forums.

I thought the afterstart thing just re-set after 12am.
But sometimes it resets after awhile if I haven't driven.
ie: 8am class, then 2pm class.

Actually both AFTER START and AFTER RESET reset bu itself as soon as you turn off the engine... When you start again regardless when (even 3 minutes) those two will start with 0 km.... So I never have an idea what is my car's fuel consumption? And THIS IS NOT COVERED IN THE MANUAL...

After Start does not reset by itself until after (4?) hours (of inactivity?).
I believe my car remembered a whole days worth of driving without resetting; up until I left it alone for 3+ hours and went back for it at like 4 or 5 in the morning to find that it had reset to 0.

 

Hmm! Some owners manuals Yes & some No - strange but true.

 

It's really very simple. After Reset won't reset until you do it manually. After Start resets after the engine has been off for 4 consecutive hours. If you park it for less than 4 hours at a time all day it will remember the whole day but as soon as you park it for over 4 hours it will reset.

You said that After Reset won't reset until you do it manually . BUT MINE DOES EVERY TIME I STOP THE CAR ... sound crazy ... I used to have other merc, it did not..

Just wondering if this issue has ever been solved?
I have same issue. Both the "From Start " and "From Reset" stats reset on their own every morning.. sometimes even after half an hour.
On top of this my analogue clock doe s a"reset" where it will run backward a full cycle and then forward again til it gets to the correct time. all three of these issues happen together.

No warning lights on dash.

I have had a new battery. issue still occurs.

 

For some reason the voltage regulator comes to mind. My cluster computer display was doing all this weird stuff when the VR died.
