DEPO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT CUTOFF
Hi Guys,
First I would like to thank KARO for inspering me to get these and install them on my ride..........THANK YOU.![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
Since there is so much intrest that is being generated for the DEPO projector headlights, here are some cutoff pictures for all of you to decide for yourself if it is worth it or not.
Installed on a 2007 C280 4 matic, did the capacitor mod before install no flicker no code. 6000K temp bulb and 6000k bulb HID PNP kit installed in the fogs as well.
In the below pictires the fogs were not fired.............I think the depos are well worth the money...........if you see closely you will see what other members point out ....the inefficiency of these projectors in spreading the light..........in the below pictures the setting is factory I have not yet tweeked or adjusted the projectors, I guess can get better spread if I do some tweeking

now for the pictures.....![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

The light output and hot spots look aweful.
Cut off is a lot cleaner than what I would have expected even though I still see some glare.
Not bad for aftermarket and still a hell of a lot better for oncoming traffic than HIDs in stock housings.

Not bad Javvy.....gives the car a sick look and plus it doesn't hurt the wallet with the expensive BiXenons.
No, actually factory xenons are still a loss - FTMFL. The light output between factory and the DEPOs are definitely not worth the price difference. Honestly the JDM cars have the best light output without a doubt.

yeah my aftermarket projectors look the same... I'm thinking of buy a set of tsx projectors and retrofitting them because tsx projectors have one of the best cutoffs. Heres what they look like.

phister, theretrofitsource is coming out with an s2000 replica projector at the end of the month and they are having a presale price of 175, which is a very good price. I am waiting for these to be released so i can finish my retrofit. You should check them out, they claim its brighter and wider than the oem s2000 projectors.

Cutoff is not much worse than OEM Bi-Xenons, but light output of the OEM's is much better (uniform). The depos are a great option when paired with a really good projector retrofit like the S2K's that TemjinX2 did.

hey phister your cutoff is much better than mine, even the uniformity is not bad.......but if you are going the retrofit route..I would suggest the new FX-R projectors that are a staright fit and the rave right now with performance and all.... google it and you will see...........

Reasons why I want projectors:
1. Don't blind others
2. I want the beam to look somewhat normal when lit on the road (ocd kicking in, lmao)
3. Looks better than the stock fogged halogens
$400 isn't that bad for some headlights, so I think it'll be an okay investment for my car![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Do you guys agree?

I just thought maybe they fixed the cutoff a little bit and by using D2S bulbs can give you a better cutoff like your EBAY ad.

it would be better if the cutoff was like the one on the ad, foreground lighting appears better as well. Foglights would help remedy the foreground lighting issue.
Good thing about Depo projectors is that they are clear, sometimes you can play with better housings and slap depo lenses on and get insane hybrid results.
I used to retrofit and sell parts from headlights, man that was years ago when D1S first came out. Alot new projectors and stuff now I am not even familiar with. but s2k were always known for their lighting and cutoff. LS430 projectors were the best as in MOST output out of the headlight.
Another bad thing to keep in mind about depo housings is that they dont stand up to UV rays as well as OEM so those of you with no garages/shelters you will see your headlights start to cheddar up much sooner. For the price though you cant beat depos, they are awesome for retros as well if you want better output

Output may be close, but the cutoff, and whatever the term is for "the way the light looks from the driver seat" is worth it lol
Although, phisters look really good, why do the OP's look so crappy vs phisters if theyre the same depo unit?
