Front Speakers

Hi Guys,

I have found a DIY on how to remove the whole doot panel trim but i cant seem to find any DIYs on how to remove the jsut the dront speaker grils/covers?

Is it possible without having to remove the whole door trim?

One of the front door speakers started rattling, i dont know the the speaker has gone bad or something is jsut loose and rattling.

I'm fairly sure the grilles are glued on from the inside, so you'll have to remove the door panels to access the speaker. (someone will correct me if I'm off)

I'd imagine the glue on the cone has broken down, and you'll need a new speaker, but I've been wrong before.

I'll be in Melbourne in a couple years (will do at least 2-3 weeks, so have to do serious planning w/vacation days), btw - was born there. Already looking forward to the trip!

I was 6 months old when we left. I honestly have no idea. Think I lost the birth certificate too, at some point.

ya I've replaced all of my speakers and you need to remove the doort panels. Not that hard, especially after you do it once or twice. and the speakers come right out with a couple screws and a plug that plugs into the speaker housing. I actually modified the speakers i added to still utilize the plug so I didnt have a hard wired connection to the wiring and i could easily go back to stock speakers. good luck

If you are talking about the grill is just not gonna happen. Have to do the whole door panel, make sure you be careful with the plastic pegs, I'm pretty sure I busted a couple when I replaced my speakers. It's fun to do (not really) and is not too technically difficult. You'll be fine putting some foam if the problem is that is lose or something (psttt, might as well replace them while you are at it, those OEM speakers are crap, unless you have the Bose)
