I was wondering which would come first, this moved to the classified section (or someone saying it should be), or Matt's dig in on the Sprintbooster.

I guess the score would be Matt 1, Mods 0.

Yes - we all think the Sprintbooster is crap.

EDIT - apart from Tommy - see SB thread.

Hmmm, that's funny, it felt like it was doing it's job when I installed it.

Feel free to search and prove me wrong (ok, there might be another person or two whom I don't remember, but the very large majority have been happy with it).

Anyone who says the product sucks and hasn't used it is talking out of their a$$. I'm still not sure why they feel that their comments have any merit at all.

Have you ever used one of those fans in the intake.. those supposed "electric superchargers" or "Tornado" intakes? Do you think they're legit? Do you need to experience one to make an opinion or does common sense alone tell you it is trash? Hey at least those don't cost $300.

I don't need to experience something that I FULLY understand to have a valid opinion. There is no mystery behind the SB. If I press the gas both quicker and further from a standstill I actually experience the SB, anyway.

It's not the idea that I think is stupid. I don't like the throttle's unresponsive nature either. It's the ridiculous price for something that has been proven (and the company admits) does absolutely nothing.

Sometimes common sense is all that is needed to form a valid opinion.

Thats what i love about Glyn Rock, hes forcing an answer to you . Example few months ago , when i created a cold air intake and proved him by dyno sheet and videos that it made 8-9whp, he started arguing about some BS. Now that im selling SB he says "everybody" thinks that SB is BS. LOL. Again in my opinion , it does work. It eliminates that pesky delay thats made by drive-by-wire. It helps you feel the control of the vehicle better, it helps you get a better start if your in uphill situation, it helps you in some many other things where this delay is not only unnecessary but dangerous at times.

I'd wager a bet that Glyn Ruck has forgotten more about the W203 than most of us (including yourself) have learned or know.

You may like the SB effect, fine. Better control, better hill starts, etc is BS - as Glyn said. Do you not understand the SB is a signal amplifier? The throttle delay is annoying but it is not dangerous or Benz would have long had a remedy. That being said, I've never said it didn't work. It DOES amplify the signal and take away the throttle delay. It DOES NOT improve performance in any way, shape, or form not easily replicated by simply pressing harder on the gas. Further, if you can't start off on a hill when driving a manual that would be your lack of experience rather than a problem with the car.

I never said it creates horsepower, but by eliminating delay you do get in fact quicker reaction times, hence quicker 0-60 and quartermile. Unless ofcourse you have an automatic transmission , which is totally different story , because your right foot is stuck on that pedal ALL THE TIME, LOL. Get a manual transmission and then we can talk. or better yet, get SB for your 6MT 135, and youll see what im talking about.

To me, it gives a better feel, which is the only important part.

Now, Matt, since the quantfiable improvement is very slim to none, how can you "know" that the feeling of the car is not improved without any first-hand knowledge? Simply put, you can't. It's like ribbed vs. non-ribbed.

Negro - The 135i needs no help. It is quite fast from the factory and suffers no throttle delays. As for your 6MT C230 V6, it is no faster than my automatic C230K. The SB does not improve performance times, this is well documented. You've not disclosed why you're selling the SB..?

Tommy - Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. I'm not saying it doesn't "feel" better, or that if you like the feeling then you're wrong. I'm saying that I would never pay $300 for a signal amplifier that does not actually improve performance. I can state that it doesn't improve performance because everyone knows that. I admit to not knowing what it "feels" like. For $300, I'll never know.

Please read the Sprint booster white paper. It does not reduce throttle lag - that is programmed into the ECU. It makes the pedal more sensitive over the first part of it's travel & hit's WOT at about 60% pedal movement - after that the rest of the pedal travel achieves nothing.

It does exactly what is now claimed & nothing more. As Tommy says it changes the feel. That is the only claim I would consider reasonable. It will not improve acceleration times with a competent driver.

In Matt's defence - You do not have to have a baby to be a gynaecologist!

Psychologically most people are going to like something that they have just pissed $300 at the wall on.

Maybe I'm just really happy with it cause I paid a buck twenty used. LOL

I definitely wouldn't pay $300 for it. But I do think when I'm driving on the highway, it kicks down faster and gives me the throttle response I like.

I know it doesn't make me faster, but I do think that if I was racing someone one on the freeway and we both stepped in it, I'd get a faster takeoff than without it. I took it off for a while once and there was a definite lag when I punched it. Just my opinion.

Gramma - $120 used is a much more reasonable price than the $270 he is asking which is not a big discount off a new one.

Yeah, I understand that, but people can sell for whatever they want. I was just giving my experience. I actually had no idea they were $300.

When I got mine, I think they just wanted to get rid of it ASAP. That plus he's a cool guy.
