Ask to speak to the service manager, then keep going on up the food chain, and possibly involve MBUSA.

Now, if when removing the bearing, there was a problem with the hub itself and that's what lead to the cracking, the dealer may have a leg to stand on, but it will be next to impossible to prove that the problem did not exist before they started work. But keep pressing anyway if you think you are in the right here.

Sounds like your stuck between a rock and a hard place. Like Tommy mention tried to work your way up the food chain. Good Luck, and try to find a reputable indie shop to do your work. It will save you a lot of headaches

Be damn difficult & I think they will come round.

One question - what caused the bearing to fail? Did you curb it hard?

bearing just went I was noticing a grinding sound when turning left so i jacked it up and found the rr tire had play in it when moved side to side over 1/8" of play NO marks on tire or rim so no curb hit

anyways i called mb canada left a message with the manager for my area and low and behold the dealer calls me back 35 mins later saying they feel bad and they will cover all costs (except the orig 1.5 hours to replace bearing) which i felt was fair

the issiue was they NEVER said it may break when they press it out so being they never warned me before hand its NOT my problem

anyways I will let you guys know exactly what happened when i get the car probably not till monday as they probably wont get the parts friday

Glad it worked out! Seems like MBUSA is pretty legit about setting the dealers straight.
