Restraint System SRS code... after wreck..
The rear passenger door looks like the airbag seem was stitched up so maybe it was replaced and repaired in that area already?
Anyway, car wont turn over because of it, ive searched and this happens randomly to alot of people and they just get it reset by the dealer... i dont want to waste the money to have the code reset and come back on
What else is needed when i replace the rear passenger airbag? do any sensors need to be replaced along with getting the ecu reset or airbag computer (same unit or different?)
A mb Indy shop will probably charge less then the dealership, they should have a mb star as well and be able to reset it for you.
Sometimes if you talk to them, they'll be nice and reset it for free.
Also do not underestimate the importance of the SRS. It is an all-or-nothing proposition. If one thing isn't ready, the entire system will be deactivated. So the system light being on means the airbags and seat belt pretensioners will not protect you in a crash. $130 seems like a small price to pay on a matter that could very well make the difference between life or death.
Does anyone know what else i need to replace along with those 2 airbags? Do i need a new pillar airbag sensor or are they re-usable after a wreck? Then ofcourse the dealer will have to reset the srs but i want to make sure everything is fixed so it doesnt turn back on..
What about seatbelts? Are those throw away after a wreck or re-usable? ive been searching and cant find answers to these questions!
