Lack of power and Check engine light

I was driving around today and I noticed my car lost some power in all gears. It would drive, but as if the supercharger wasn't working. I can hear it though.

Then, the check engine light came on. The car drives fine, it's just gutless now.

I have no idea what the problem is.

Pull codes... Can't do much until this is done.. But sounds like plugs and wire pack..

My grandfathers c320 is a year older then mine.. But doesn't have anywhere near the power mine does.. I floored his car and a check engine light came on.. Came to find out it was misfiring changed his wires and plugs now the car hauls again =D

You go to your local autozone or similar store, like advanced auto parts, and borrow their obdII scanner. Plug into the port under steering column. The guy should be able to help you once you plug it in. I have reason to believe your car is misfiring, but we'll see.

If anybody can tell me what these codes are and how I fix them, that would be great.

P2036 Secondary air injection: malfunction (function chain) : Air flow is too low.
P2039 Recirculating air flap actuator : Adaptation Emergency running

I would check the o2 sensor first because it's possible that P2031 trickered the other 2 codes.

If something is wrong with the supercharger it makes sense that you would get secondary air injection codes as the S/C is the air pump.

I doubt anything is wrong with the supercharger, because when I cleared the check engine light, the car drove normal again, with good power. After 2 days the car started acting up again (losing power) and the engine light came on again.

I'll do a voltage test on the o2.

Well...our W203s use wideband o2 sensors which mean the ECU has the ability to adjust air/fuel mixture according to o2 readings. In your case, looks like the ECU does not receive readings from the o2 sensor, so it does not know where to adjust the mixture. Thus, the ECU runs in a fail safe mode(richen the mixture and disable the supercharger to avoid damaging the engine) The ECU forced the supercharged recirculation flap open to reduce boost, so you get P2039. And Secondary air injection system uses air from the supercharger, but with the recirculation flap open, there is not enough air entering the system...that's why you get P2036.

So, I would fix the P2031 first and erase all the codes.
Then see if P2036 and P2039 come back...which i think it should not.
If it comes back, you might have a problem the supercharger.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the explanation. P2031 is the code for the exhaust gas temerature sensor right?

Can somebody tell me which o2 sensor is "bank 1 sensor 2"? Is that the secondary o2 sensor after the cat, or before the cat near the engine?

Thanks!!!!!!

Just replaced My 02 Downstream, and all my codes cleared except for the P2039...

-Did you ever get the problem fixed? i Reckon you did since you stopped posting?

I really hope my Super Charger isn't faulty. I did do the cold air intake mod" (K&N air intake mod. airbox deletion for the cylinder K&N.)Not really cold air either.

Any advice on this issue?
