Glyn -- do you know the Mann part number for the filter? Maybe I can find something off ebay.de.

This looks familiar: http://cgi.ebay.de/Olfilter-Mercedes...item23084ab68f

Sorry to dash your hopes, nickgailloux. Unless you have a V6 C230. The filter is for the 112 not the 271 motor. The same filter is listed on Amazon

Look at the photos in Glyn's post #21

It loks as if paper filters are the norm in Germany too

The paper filter works JUST fine, people. Don't buy FRAM or whatever. But Mann or Hengst paper filters work just fine.

Well - they work well in Matt's low dust conditions. If I was in a dusty area like Arizona I might reduce drain interval to 10,000 miles using paper filters.

Remember - Even on the W204, Benz USA have now come in line with ROW & drain interval is 10,000 miles with fleece filter.

Glyn - I have two oil samples - one from 81,400 miles (5/2010) and one from 94,700 (11/2010). I want to get them both analyzed but will the oil that has been sitting in the little container for 6 months still give good results? Forgive my ignorance.

Yes Matt - It will be fine. Just give it a good shake & the lab should do the same as a matter of course.

EDIT - BTW - I have no objection whatever of you running extended drain. Samples from your car have proven that in your conditions & duty cycle the oil is going 13,000 miles just fine.
