If you intend dropping your 4 Matic - do your homework. It is not as plain sailing as RWD cars.
Thanks for the advice man. I'll check that fluid out.

And I keep reading about 4-matics being more complicated with rims/drops - so defnitely looks like I got a lot of homework to do before I delve into that subject.

For now I got a short list of things to do:

-Replace/flush transmission fluid and filter
-Replace fuel filter
-Lube up the sway bars and end links to prevent squeaking
-Debadge
-Install flat hood emblem
-Install AZN Optics 194 city lights
-Tint

Another question for you fellas - anyone try this with their C240?

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...imatronic.html

Seems like it should work but can anyone confirm it does with a C240?

Would you suggest I replace my stock air filter with a K&N? I'm undecided on this and after searching the forums I am reading a lot of mixed responses. I would assume it works best on the Kompressor since it has a super-charger. I actually had a 1.8T VW before this and it sounded and felt so much better after a simple cold air intake with pipe upgrade. Cost me about $40.

Keep the stock filter. I don't believe in oil impregnated membrane filters for road cars. Rather do headers etc. if you want to mod.

Oh no don't get me wrong, I don't want to do any kind of 'performance' mods to this baby. I'm keepin her just the way she is. Just thought I'd ask about the filter since it did make such a huge difference in my last ride, but that's probably because it had a turbo-powered engine.

Anyway, I just ran the Climatronic diagnostic test (linked above) and the thing just blew the fans in a pattern at full speed for about 20 minutes before I decided to shut it off. I did it without the engine on, just key turned all the way to the right.

Did I do something wrong or does my Climatronic need repair?

What kind of foglights bulbs would you guys recommend to match my bi-xenons with AZN Optics city-lights?

I'm also going to buy one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/White...ht_10080wt_909

...to replace the ugly yellow license plate light.

Let me know if you guys have any other recommendations.

try it engine running as it cyclys the ac durning the test and i 'Think" you need engine on

If the test never stops it means somthing is not working probably a broken linkage or motor

Thanks for the feedback! I'll give it another shot with the motor on and see what happens.

In other news, you guys won't believe it, but some chick rear-ended me yesterday while I was stopped at a red-light. Funny thing is, the back bumper already had a bunch of scratches and nicks on it as well as the tow cover cap missing, so at first I was kinda pissed off then I thought about it...she pretty much just got me a free paint job as well as that tow cover cap I was missing? Yes.

Cool stuff, wonder if I can get anything else out of this little fender bender.
