add rear deck subwoofer

hello, I have:
audio 20 harman kardom.
6 speakers (4 in front doors, and 2 in rear doors).
sound is good, but I want to increase the bass performance, so the idea is to add a subwoofer in the rear deck.
as you probably know, there's a empty hole there, just to put the subwoofer.
the situation is:
-the empty hole is there, so I can put a aftermarket sub without problem.
the question is:
-is the audio cables there or not?
I mean: I don't want to remove the stereo, the carpets, the rear seats, is really a big work just to put a sub......
there's any chance to find the audio cable there, even if the subwoofer isn't there?
regards,

I don't know if they are all prewired or not, but to find out you will have to remove the back seat, the side pillar covers and the rear deck cover. Here is a link to check out. Look at post #3. It has the instructions on how to accomplish this.

Well if you have the Harman Kardon You have more then 6 speakers it is like 12 or something. So you would already have a sub in the back. So first i would figure out if you really have the upgrade stereo. Then do some searches on what system you have on adding a sub.

I don't have upgrade system, that's for sure !.
I only have 6 speakers, and in the trunk there's a hole for the subwoofer but the speaker is missing.
the question is, there's anybody here who face the same situation and can tell me if any chance the car is prewired for the subwoofer?
I know I can put the subwoofer, and wired from the speaker to the stereo, but I want to avoid the problem of remove the carpets, seats, stereo unit, etc.
is a lot of work !.
so, if the car is prewired, i can install the sub easily.
does anybode seen before it usually the speakers comes prewired in the trunk?

Ok well then you have an audio 20 don't say a audio 20 Harman Kardon that will throw people off. Depending on the country your car is in that could depend. On the USA w203s you don't have any pre wiring for a sub unless you have the sub like the Bose or HK systems. Most people in your situation tap into one of the rear speakers for a sub input or when they replace there HU then they run the sub wires to the back.
Ok so what country are you in and what is the year and model/package of your car?

The year and country do matter because some basic stereos did come with sub's so that may include a prewire since it is not a usa model it could possibly have a prewire. where was your car built i don't know where Argentinian w203s were built? Hopefully we can get some help with some people who have experience with 06 basic stereos about possible prewireing since the w203 has lots of changes from country to country. I honestly doubt it has any but lets hope someone knows for sure.

These cars come in so many configurations the only way to see what harness is fitted to your car is to take a look or do a VIN search with a helpful dealer.

I ended up having a subwoofer I did not know I had. Thanks to Wardsweb et al.
