I don't think the clusters from manual car and automatic car are readily interchangeble. I have NOT heard/seen any one who has done this kind of swap successfully.
Auto parts stores (like Autozone and Pepboys) sell spray paint for plastic. Use that paint.
Are you trying to paint inside of the headlight housing? Or outside the headlight housing?
Suggestion: Please take time and write your questions better, you will get better responses.

woa woa woa are you sure about telling him to just take plastic spray paint and go for it? isn't there a much more dreadful process than that? on the w203 amg forums, one of my buddies did a thread like this one and got a list of stuff he must do first otherwise it messes it up.

Don't know about the pre facelift but on the facelift model it should work. Give it a try and see...I have a feeling it should work because the data is being sent to the ICM and not the ICM deciding what gear it's in.

thats how i painted my headlight. I just sanded the chrome down so that it could stick. I havent been able to test it against the elements yet but if your doing it the same way i did it. I cant foresee too many issues since its not close to the bulb.

if you are planning on doing it the same way i did it, you need to use masking tape that doesnt stick too much. I think i used 3m delicate( not sure if thats what it was called), and dont leave the tape on over night because the chrome will peel off with the tape. Its very easy to take the chrome off if your not careful.

attached is the coding that needs to be taken place on the post facelift ICM. Found out Mileage is stored in both ECU and ICM. They both have to match or else your ICM (instrument cluster) will lock out. A change in the ICU will make a change in the ECU and the other way around. If you can find someone with STAR in your area they can do this for you easily including changing the miles accordingly.
Bottom line is it will work but you will need it coded via SDS/DAS/STAR (whatever you want to call it).

If your ICM isn't messed up, I would just leave it alone.

they're cheap eagle eyes but im retrofitting them with s2kr projectors and gatling gun shrouds.
mbz, i just used plastic paint that used for model cars. The chrome part is just clear plastic once you sand off the chrome.
