Thanks Mike... what color you painting your calipers? Also on the Metalcast paint, since your calipers arent really metallic/shiny you'll want to get the Metalcast base coat paint. It'll put a metallic layer on the calipers so when you put the paint on it'll really look shiny and anodized.

About your post above - I just wanted to clear something up. When you mention to use the Metalcast base coat paint, do you mean, spray a couple of layers of the base coat paint, wait for it to dry, and then finally do a couple of coats of the paint color of preference? Would Dupli-Color be the best choice for this?

Yes you're going to do the base coat like a primer. So you'll do a couple of coats. Wait 10mins between coats. Let it dry for about 30. Then do your metalcast. I used metalcast cause it gives a nice anodized look plus it handles high temps since its made for engine parts. You can use others just make sure it can handle high temps, till say it on the cans on the details.

Ahh you're gonna think I'm lame but I kinda just want to do the standard red. I'm afraid to try anything else...'cept maybe blue?
I'd be open to various options if she was silver/white and not black...IMO its kinda hard to make any other color than red flow with the black paint.
Let me know if you have any ideas though, I'm always open to opinions!

The 350z - That's an idea, but I feel as if it would throw off the current look of the car because I've totally removed anything amber/orange from it. The only colors seen on the car ATM are black, chrome (grille and trim), and red/white on the taillights. Think I'll try the red for now and if I don't like it, will start experimenting with a yellow and maybe yellow fog lights to match.
EDIT - OK, now that's fresh (The green on the MB) - I might give that a shot...that or the yellow. But I gotta make sure everything will match well in the end. And I guess it would be better if I could get my hands on some black rims because I don't see the neon yellow/green looking too hot with standard silver MB wheels.
Thanks again phi

Yeah, I'm going to do them the black chrome, I just got on to the hood grill before I did the rivets to see how the black chrome hood grill would make it look. I'll probably do the rivets later today when its not so hot outside. It lets the paint dry faster but damnnn its like a sauna in the garage.

Up next wheelies! But I'm kind of contemplating doing them champagne gold with the lips black chrome, it'll take away my whole panda look lol.. But I think I'll do it anyways and see how it looks. Gotta mix it up right?! Then I'll black chrome all the accents

nice pandabenz!
i was on the fence.. but now i'm lovin it... the bolts on the hood vents flow well with the wheels...
i'm glad you did up the hood vent too.. looks great.
only thing i would change is lose all the chrome on the impact strips... but thats just my taste
