So I had an eventful day after coming home from work. My lip for some reason was scrapping the road on everything. So when I pulled in my garage and got out my front drive side was flat, lucky i got the full size spare. Ordered my 215/40/18 from tirerack so they'll be in tomorrow or wed. So I go to inspect my tire and the whole inside sidewall is worn down and caused a leak. Upon further inspection I found out that one of my lower strut bolt was missing which loosened the other side and the upper bolt so my camber went way negative causing the upper tire to rub against the strut and spring which made the crazy groove on the side wall. So I had to go buy a bolt to replace the missing one and corrected my camber and torqued everything to spec to make sure it didnt happen again plus I got locking washers as insurance. So guess I'll be going a bit lower now since I got the new tires coming in. I might have to remove my cf lip knowing its going to get abused even more than what it already has endured.

got my new toy installed. Got an Ark Design MFD-2. can monitor up to 8 things on one screen. Speed, RPM, A/F, Injector cycle %, Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Oil temp, vaccum/boost, and throttle %
can do 1 or 2 analog dials or 1,2,4 or 8 digital. you can even adjust your speed correction if you have different wheels from stock. connects to your OBD plug. I need to buy the sensors for the oil pressure and temp so I can monitor them. also waiting for the monitor stand so its just taped to dash for now
Heres the MFD-2 and snapped some pics of my gold foil wrapped intake and lowered the car a tap when I got new tires. got about 2" of clearance.
heres the digital in 4 monitors. currently running this with a/f, water temp, vaccum, and throttle as my monitors.
Gold wrapped intake (got DEI radiant gold foil tape wrapped around it to keep the heat
way)
heres a look at my clearance with an oil wrench barely fitting underneath

lol i really was considering adding a wet nitrous setup to the car. my friend has one sitting at his house i might buy off him. a simple 50-75 shot would be good.

Doh! I just saw the post about your flat. Sucks to hear! How does one lose one of the lower strut bolts??! I say you go low w/ those 215s up front and leave the lip on so you can protect the bumper some more Maybe you can throw in some of those front adjustable camber bolts to save yourself some tire wear and move your tires away from the strut also.

dont worry tru I installed my 215/40 already. car sits nice now. Have to admit my lip is all beat to hell on the underside. I put 12mm spacers up front and pushed it out just a hair more to clear things. I might go lower on it but with the shorter sidewall it sits nice now.
Kreepin, no our doesnt come with camber plates. the design our towers wont allow for camber plates.

woah woah woah. 12mm spacer + 18x9 up front. (mind blown) If that's the case - people could potentially run 18x9.5 w/ enough camber and skinny tires.... crazzzyyy!

if you really want to pull the hell out of your fenders ya you can fit 18x9.5 lol I've had to have pulled my rears a good 25mm or more and fronts at least 15mm. fixing to order my 3.5" lip from CCW now since I had to buy new tires first.

Yea, i figured you could fit that 18x9.5 w/ enough rolling. the front fenders are super soft/easy to roll too... Are you rubbing when you go lock to lock? Or did you manage to pull out that pesky windshield wiper res?

I can go lock to lock with no issues at all. When I took the wiper res out I didn't think it was that involved but I found out there's a cooling coil that goes to the radiator system inside the res. Totally forgot mb does that. The coil runs the length of the reservoir so I'm gonna have to chop the OEM one and then mold it back together

Out Of Control!!
So phister, about where you're putting your spare tire........I don't see pictures!!
My Moda rim is now being powdercoated, and will be done on Friday. Then I'll figure out how to mount it in the back of the hatch; will most likely use the D-rings to secure it down somehow.

You should read the thread, I literally asked that question a few posts up. I have a question for you though, what W203 did you get those for?

sorry tommy, i have them in the normal spare tire spot.
No our cars are designed where it'll be hard to do front camber plates.
also be careful when installing the front because the upper strut mounting hole is oval shaped so you can adjust the camber quite a bit. its designed to use a eccentric bolt so when you install it make sure you dont push the hub in too far or pull it out too far or you'll camber will be off.
