Can the SPRINGS that control DEFLECTION of the 6 spd MANUAL tran SHIFTER be ADJUSTED?
have 06 mt 350, the throws were alittle long so i cut off an inch of the stick, use momo knob, throws shorter and quicker but the spring that keeps stick from deflecting is stiffer, esp when moving to Reverse, my Q is, can i loosen the tension in the springs to make shifts even sweeeeeta? thanx, mike

As the past two posters have said, having the ability to slam the gears in a short amount of time over a short distance will only lead to having to swap out your tranny in short order. If you shorten the throw, it will feel better, but require you to baby the shifts more.
What you're looking for is a true short shift kit, which takes into account both a shorter throw but still gives you the smoothness of the normal shifter, but doesn't exist for our cars. So you will have to decide if you want to compromise on the feel, like you have by shortening the shifter, or go back to stock and live with a longer throw. The only semi-happy medium is to get a stock shifter, and put a shift knob that is much lower than stock on it; that accomplishes both goals, while having the ability to look and feel better than the large, ugly OEM knobs. Your Momo probably does that.
It's unfortunate that some aftermarket company hasn't picked up this aspect, but mods to the manual shifting on Benzes isn't a high priority.
