It is certainly possible. You would have to fit transmission, TCU, necessary wiring, correct shift lever, interlock etc etc plus Star time to adapt it all.
Unless you have a donor car I think it would work out too expensive.

Hi & welcome. While I will do some reading there is very little experience of the Sequentronic on this board. There are too few of them. I think that you need to get your car onto a Star DAS & have all the adaptions reset. It looks as though you have a speed sensor that is in conflict with other inputs.
I recommend that you PM or e mail vakity. He knows more about these transmissions through hard work than any of us do. I see you are also in Bulgaria.
Good Luck!

ANOTHER SEQUENTRONIC PROBLEM
My car has thrown the "Transmission" warning this morning. Beached by the roadside at the moment. It SEEMS to drive but VERY jerky. I've seen a post on another forum about this but you guys on here seem to be really on it.
It's only thrown this error message this morning. Car HAS been "a bit strange" for a few weeks and was jerky when cold last night. Warmed up and got me home three miles with no incident. I read that perhaps 1st and reverse are the only issue. Last night TBH it seemed jerky on changes through 2nd and 3rd too but NOT undriveable and no error message. This morning it came up 5 yards into my journey. RAC put it in reverse and jerked it back to safe parking. My repair garage is not open at the weekends (and TBH wanted to read it up first!).
A bit about the car - it is 52 plate and 111k miles, "a trade car" so to speak. Does NOT have a recent service history and I bought it from a mate who is "a doorstep trader". Had a few little niggles which cost me a bit to get it through MOT but otherwise sound and decent but not glamorous transport. I'd like to keep it for a bit longer. Before my mate bought it, it visited an independent Merc garage not too far from my home. I had my MOT work done at a small independent garage. It was brakes / emissions etc stuff, not STAR type stuff. THIS is different - I think it needs Merc knowledge / STAR.
I have a question - Vikily (sorry if spelling wrong) says he "replaced battery". Is that the main car battery? Tell you why I asked.... This morning when car broken down by the side of the road, I put hazard lights on. Locked car, walked home to have cup of tea and wait for RAC. When I went back to the car about half an hour later, my key fob would NOT activate the central locking. Had to unlock car with the blade of the key!! So.... PERHAPS my battery is dying.... is this SEPARATE from the transmission issue or could a new battery perhaps transform my other problem?
Thanks
Sue

I don't know if Vakity still looks in on the forum.
Have your battery properly load tested. Low voltage can cause all sorts of gremlins on these cars.

BATTERY TESTING
Nope, NOT had battery tested. The symptoms (no central locking) has literally only showed up this morning whilst I was opening up to show it to RAC.
It was this thread which alerted me to a potential connection between battery and "transmission problems" which made me mention battery.
I'd be AMAZED and DELIGHTED to find all this hassle was a dodgy battery!
Perhaps I should replace battery with a similar one (got one sitting idle from a wrecked car), and drive round the block to test out the theory.....?

Hi Sue, There is very little knowledge of the Sequentronic transmission on this forum. Very few units were sold outside Europe.
A healthy battery & charging system is critical to proper operation of these cars.
Please get hold of an OBDII scanner capable of reading transmission codes & read stored codes & post. The OBDII plug is under the steering column under a rectangular cover.

I should have perhaps explained that I am in UK..... I think I will tackle charging / battery issues FIRST before spending too much (and of course read the codes - wonder if UK RAC patrol has code reading capability?).

I realise you are in the UK. Most membership here is USA & ROW. Vakity was the first ever Sequentronic post we had.
It's unlikely that the RAC could read Benz transmission codes but you can always ask. If you don't have a dealer Star you need a Snap-on Solus or similar. A good Indy that works on Benz should have an adequate unit.
You are wise to check battery & charging system health first.
No key operation can vary from a flat battery in the key to the antenna in the rear window suffering damage etc.
Once the key is in the ignition it is inductively powered by the EIS (electronic ignition switch) and no longer dependent on it's internal battery. Check the key's battery or use your spare.

Well I appreciate your comments on what is clearly an unusual topic on here. The KEY is only a year old. It is a pattern key. The only one I received when I bought the car was falling apart. I can get the key checked over - there is little place on the northern outskirts of London which only does electronic keys.
I will have RAC run their ruler over the battery and charging mechanisms. They can at least do that! It being mid-winter here, and incredibly WET (wettest January on record), the battery has had a bit of a hammering with lights, wipers and blower all the time.
Will the STAR / Snap-on scanner indicate "battery faulty" or will it pick up transmission sensors (whatever is triggering my error message of transmission)? Do NOT want to go down the "transmission" route until I am entirely satisfied that a simple £100 battery change will NOT solve it. Labour rates, even at my little indy man (who DOES have some scanning capability) are about £60 an hour. So if we get close to hour and a half labour I have spent the £100 I might need to spend on the battery anyway. Conversely, of course I do NOT want to buy a new battery when the car does not need one (and when I am having to spend other money on the car at the same time).

A Star or Snap-on Solus is capable of reading everything on the car. All codes & diagnosis including Benz specific codes outside the OBDII regime. You really need to read stored codes on these cars or you can waste a lot of time & money chasing spooks in the dark.
Any competent battery shop can check the battery under load & your charging system. The alternator should cut out at approx 14.2 volts
Pop a new battery in the key.

SELECTRONIC - CHECK VOLTAGE
Well, I firstly want to thank GLYN who has chatted to me about this. I was right! It was only the VOLTAGE.
Car displayed all kinds of weird error messages - "TRANSMISS - WORKSHOP" which is enough to strike terror into the heart of all low-budget Merc drivers. Car jolted and jumped in first and reverse, and once sat at a road junction with NO gears, and kept asking for me to frantically select one....
Car was recovered after the "Transmiss" drama on Sat. Towed in. My Merc-freak indy ran STAR on it - what did it say? "Low voltage"!!! So CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE before doing any work on transmission.
The roadside repair specialist at the RAC said it was the diff.....
THANKS AGAIN GUYS - without you guys I might have been rooked for a new gearbox or hydraulic clutch.
Hope I have added to the scant database of knowledge on here about Selectronic. They love voltage!!

FALSE DAWN
Hi - some weeks ago I had hoped that a new battery had solved all my problems.
Now the car is off the road again, and having read this thread again in full (knowing what I now know), it seems I may have a hydraulic problem or a speed sensor problem or a ECM / TCU problem.
I've posted elsewhere, but thought I'd also post to this thread. I have a juddering / jolting gearbox / clutch / tranny when the car is cold. Once driving, it is less troublesome, but a week ago, it threw the F - TRANSMISS and refused to select any gear.
My local indy has STAR but I suspect they are NOT fully up to speed w Selectronic. They know my motor is old and that money is tight.
My nephew has a pal who works in an MB dealership and I know he does "homers", so I think it's time to take it to him. Will get on the hooter to my nephew!
Teh car is NOT talking to us tho - again NO CODES. I got a little bit lost on the jargon on the thread whilst re-reading it. Why did we conclude that Vakity's car did not write any codes? Was this due to a sensor sending ****e instructions to the ECM?
I will write up the results but unless I can get a cheapie from my nephew's mate, the car will end up uneconomic to repair, so perhaps it is a donor car for someone?

I have kind of similar problem with the sequentronic tranny...Mine won't shift gears automaticly.I noticed that few times driving down the road,my transmission suddenly switches from A to 5 or 4 depends on the gear it switched into.
It shifted using "+" and "-" but knob doesn't work if switched to A(nothing happens).
Then I changed the transmission oil and the filter at the mechanic workshop hoping it will fix the problem, unfortunately it didn't.Can anyone tell me if someone has fix for this kind of disfunction?
Need help I'm not driving this car past 4-5 months

jerky shifts
dear members, my sequetronic trans on my coupe is also acting weird. by that I mean jerky downshifts almost harsh especially from 2nd to 1st gear. @vakity & @Glyn M Ruck I saw your expertise and ability to sort the issue hence I call out for your help on. so far I haven't seen any errors or check engine lights. besides the jerky and harsh shifts the car has shown the message TRANSM VISIT WORKSHOP 2 times within 7 months but the message appeared after long staying stuck in traffic during the hot summer heat. since that the message hasn't reappeared.
should I go for the solenoids replacement ? also should I change the gearbox oil and hydraulic fluid ?
