car w 38kmiles want to keep injectors and combustion chamber and valves clean, want every hp avail. there are many products avail that u add to gas advertised to do this, ie. stp, techron , valvoline, and a new one i found called BG 44k- quite pricey but claims its as good as gold. what do u recommend and how often? i drive very spiritedly and use 93 octane shell or bp gas.
Q2. MB recs complex grease, mb lubrication paste for sliding blocks on sliding sunroof, fluid grease for door lock pin and striker eye, liquid grease for door locks ie. Exxon chassis grease LBZ , power steering fluid ie. pentosin ch f11s. The dealer is a 60 mile round trip, i have silicone spray, wd40, marine wheel bearing grease , white lithium grease in a tube, and powdered graphite. autozone is 5 mins from me. will any of my supplies be an adequete substitute to any of the above, or something i can get at autozone?? btw, they do not carry pentosin

BG 44K is used by technicians. I am told that it's a good product.
Instructions on the can state that it should be used with the machine. I guess techs know which machine it is.

Techron is approved & recommended by Benz for use in their cars - If you do not use Chevron or Texaco gas every 3 to 6 tankfulls will be OK with concentrate. Other non critical applications like door pins & locks etc would all be adequately looked after by a soft Lithium complex or polyurea grease. NLGI 1 or softer. Stick greases channel badly & don't work well. One product will do all - One proviso is that soft complex greases will obviously brush off on clothing etc if over applied.

The only thing that might be worth sourcing the correct product from the dealer & keeping a stock of is the sunroof lubricant. Webasto mechanisms need care.

gly m, i checked top tier gasolines in the U.S. ans Shell was included, in my area they seem to be buying out the chevron stations, does this shell gas contain techron?? no texaco in my area, very few chervrons.

Shell gas does not contain Techron. Just use the concentrate from time to time - Good luck.

Chevron is selling a lot of downstream assets.

well at least you guys can get techron they dont sell it in Canada . if i go to the us I fly and you cant bring it and you cant ship it for a reasonable amount of $$
