Has anyone used the General Exclaim UHP? My front Michelin Pilot Primacy are worn but the rears are fairly new. However, I don't want to replace with the same tires again. The cost to replace all 4 with Generals is the same cost as 2 Pilot Primacys in which they also have an overall better rating (tirerack).

Eventhough, I stated above that I wouldn't replace my tires with Pilot Primacy's again, I found someone selling 2 of the exact size that I need for the price of one brand new (195.ea new)I mentioned earlier that the back two are fairly new (approx. 6k miles) Would you just replace the front 2 tires with one being 10/32 and the other 8/32 or replace all 4 with eGeneral Exclaim UHP for 2x the price? Would I notice any difference with the way it will drive with the front two being off 2/32 tread wear from one another?

245/45/17 in the rear? on a Coupe
I have an 02 c230 lowered on tein coils. Found a good deal on some new toyo proxes but they are 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear. Will these be to big to run? I know they should be 40's. Just going to be the winter wheel setup, going on the stock C7 wheels which will be painted black soon. Pic of the summer setup for kicks.

That combo will potentially throw a code and put the car into limp home mode unless you have the system reprogrammed with a modified STAR. The TCU/TCM compares all 4 wheel sensors with the transmission output sensor & would see this as a mismatch.

Don't know what tyres you are running, but what %age is the rolling circumference of your 255/40 out from standard 245/40.
If you are running a tyre like Michelin PS - PS2 255/40/17 you are fine. There is virtually no change in rolling circumference from 245 to 255

Price is not that bad, but i heard that people complain a little about those tires. I really like to drive hard so i wanna have tires that i can trust them if you know what i mean.

Mir geht's gut, danke.
Kommst du auch aus Deutschland? Ich weiss nicht ob ich jetzt auch Deutsch weiter schreiben soll aber ich denk mir ist besser für andere wenn ich auf Englisch weiter mache. I have had General Exclaim tires on my car now for about 3 months. I like to drive hard too, and I can tell you that for the price, you can't beat these. Awesome grip, especially wet. Got mine from Tirerack.

MBWorld Fanatic!
And they are exactly the same diameter as 225/45/17's which are stock on the front, which I seem to recall was 25".
Check tirerack or the mfg. site for specs. Thats how I did it.
245/40/17's are smaller than the 225's on the front.
Can't figger out why mb would source them instead of going with something the same diameter. Width's vary though.
The Bridgestones rubbed a tad when new, but the Sumi's were about 1/2" less wide and never rubbed. (and they weigh 5 lbs less each!)
It would stand to reason that less revolutions per mile on the drive wheels might result in better mileage, while more might increase acceleration slightly. And 245/40/17's tend to cost more than the 255/40/17's which was why I got them after confirming the diameter.
In any case if they're too far out of wack as far as RPMile then ESP is gonna freak and put on the brakes.

Revs per mile as follows
225/45/17 833
235/45/17 820
245/40/17 841
255/40/17 831
I accept that the Tyre Rack specs are nominal at best. Tyre measurements are not exact & dependent on construction tyres grow by greater or lesser amounts with speed.
I want to put on 235 front & 245 rear. Maybe I should put on 255 rear & 235 front- I don't know whether these will rub on the sedan with stock suspension

a quarter mile at a time
Yeah I have a problem making a decision on tyre sizes. I'm changing my wheels from standard 16" with 225/50/16 Michelin Exalto 2s - to 17X8,5 rear 17X8 front all ET30. I want to fit the new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 now that they've removed the directional tread & put the Exalto tread on the PS2.

225/45/17 833
235/45/17 820
245/40/17 841
255/40/17 831
