I know Roland, Karo, and I think Frankw have used the V12 and give it good reviews. I know the tires get hard and slick if the weather gets pretty cold but once they warm up they're pretty sticky and handle well and last awhile.

THE C350
I just got the hankook v12 k110 have had them for a week or so. So far they seem fine but have not done any fun driving yet just to and from work sitting in traffic. I will say I am able to go around one corner I do every day around 15 mph faster then with my 16 inch ultra high performance all seasons but that is not a good comparison. As for the price for the stock c230 17 inch rims it was 460 exactly with a 60 MIR (so shipping was free) from tire rack. Then you take them to the Mercedes dealer with one of those awesome coupons for $100 off and get them road force balanced with hidden weights and nice valve stems for 27.12. I don't think that is what Mercedes intended on the coupons being used for this.

BTW stop doing this I now own Mercedes stock and need to have it do well lol

The tires are at 189 which is pretty good, i think its a better idea ordering them off tire rack.

Has anyone ordered tires/had them fitted by Sears Auto. How was your experience(s)?

Had one flat changed there. A Noob scratched the sh*t out of the rim. Other than that was happy with the service.

This is what I'm afraid of. I STFF's and found quite a few responses with people complaining about getting their rims scratched and whatnot. All I want them to do is fit/balance new tires on a new set of rims. Seems like such a pain in the *** owning a decent German car in the US, like any and every shop I go to get work done some ****ole is looking to damage something in the process.

In that instance it was a matter of a kid that hadn't been properly trained.

I usually use Discount Tire/Tire America. First class service and very little damage. I highly recommend them if they're in your neighborhood.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that I used Discount Tire in the past (with previous car), and from what I remember it was pretty much smooth sailing for the most part.

Gonna go check them out and see what is offered.

Thanks for reminding me

Michelin's are expensive.

I'm starting to look into these Hankook's (V2 and V12) everyone has been talking about, and for about $105/tire it looks like a potentially good buy.

Figured this part out.

As is with most things in life.

I guess I'd be better off just going with all season Michelin's, that way when the winter comes back around I won't have to re-invest in another pair of tires as I would have to if I went with the Hankook's. Decisions, decisions...

Yeah, I haven't seen a single negative review about them thus far (on the web). I looked around for a while and found out I can get 'em for $120/pop (locally) including mounting/installation/alignment/30 day test drive/nationwide warranty/lifetime flat repair/lifetime tire rotation. And after finding out that it's next to impossible to get the Michelin's for under $200/pop, I think I have narrowed down my choice. Hankook here I come

I've got Hankooks as well...cant complain great summer tire. The v12 is a summer perfomance tire so when it gets a little colder it's not gonna perform as well

Anybody buy or have used the newer Falken Azenis PT722's?

I have done a lot of searching for the highest Treadwear and for tires that have a mileage warranty and these tires seem to have the best for the price.

Im looking at 225/45/17 fronts and 245/40/17 for my rears
and they have a 600 Treadwear and 60,000 MILEAGE warranty, which is a rarity for tire sizes for our sport packaged C230 which is something I want, because I am tired of my tires wearing out so quickly, its almost like a conspiracy.

I can pick them up for $544 right now with free shipping.
I asked for a quote at a local shop and they wouldn't even tell me and just said the two rear tires would be "like $400 ish" And the guy said get em online.

What do you guys think?

Different tire companies use different treadwear ratings. There are 3 kinds I believe. Just because its 600 through them it might mean 400 or 500 from a different companys ratings. Also when you get to higher tread ratings the tires will tend to be harder so it'll last longer but in return you'll loose grip because the tire compound takes longer to warm and become sticky. If you're looking for good treadlife plus handling I'd look into the continental dws believe it has a 540 A A ratings.

That warranty doesn't mean you will get that many miles out of that tire. If you want the best chance of mileage, buy Michelin.

Read the fine print on the mileage warranty as most will say that the tires need to be rotated on a regular schedule to be valid. With staggered sizes the only way to rotate is side to side which will require un mounting and re mounting for directional tread patterns. My last set was Goodyear GT with a 50,000 mile rating and I ended up getting about 30,000. Looking for something new myself.

I just found the fine print and "Staggard fitments are not covered by our mileage guarantee"

Of course...and yes you need to rotate every 5000 miles and blah blah blah, if they were

I still picked up a set of these It was between the Falkens and the Continental DWS's they were very similar in price.

Will keep u guys posted.

Can I ask what your local shop charged to mount & balance them? Shops around here seem to want around $30 per tire when you don't buy from them.
