So, you shaved the back spacing, correct? I might have HRE do that, or I might down size from a 9.5 to a 9 inch width.
Damn, my Supra had 18x10's on the rear with 295/30-18 Yokohama AVS Sports. But then again I had the horsepower to go with it

Need all season tires for Carlsson rims
Okay, I've decided to go with the 1/6 evo in a size 19. I need all season tires with handling and low noise plus high treadwear ( I know how ridiculous that sounds). I only want to spend from $100 to $150 on a tire. Please give me suggestions.

You have a set of huge 19" wheels, and you are putting all season tires....that doesnt make much sense. Can you explain why do you want to put all season tires instead of summer tires?
#505
I don't know much about cars, nor wheels and tire. I live in no. cal and commute to so. cal as well. I want a good tire which I can feel safe about when it starts raining in the bay.

i live in the bay too and i also am about to buy new 19" tires. the cheapest i can find are the nitto nt-555 and the falkens both are 200 dollars installed. let me know too if you can find another place cheaper!

What size tires did the sports package come with?
Pre 2003 of course. This is for 2001 C320.
I checked edmunds and they say it was 225/60VR/16? Stock is 205/55HR16?
I can see the higher speed rating but higher aspect ratio too? could it be possible that the 60 should be a 50 instead?
BTW they were both on 16x7 rims. I would like to go with the sports package size tires when I have to get new tires (which will be soon since I'm putting on over 100miles/day)
Thanks for any help.

According to my handy-dandy, all purpose 2002 C-class brochure the Sport package has 225/50 R 16 92V tires on 7.5Jx16 wheels. Standard equipment is 205/55 R 16 91H tires on 7.0Jx16 wheels.

yep, it should be 225/50, not 60.
btw, if you are looking for rims, why not go up the size to 17? AMG rims might be cheaper than the OEM sport pkg rims you can only get from the dealership, unless you find the parts number.
my sister did a upgrade to 225/45ZR17 ContiSport 2 with AMG thin spoke rims up from the 205/55R16 for her CLK. It was about $1500. the ride is not harsher, but definitely hangs on to the road better. anyway, just my advise.

winter tires
It's snowing pretty heavily in upper state of NY. I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations for the winter tires. Right now, I am thinking of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport M2.
By the way, does it matter if i have the sport package or not? Thanks.
One more question:
I have 225/50 r16 rite now. Can I change it to 225/55? I am not sure what the difference is. Thanks again.

I've got the 16" Dunlop winter sports. They replace 17" Pilots in the winter. I can't compare the snow performance to other snows, but they are definitely better than all seasons. What I can say is that they are very quiet and handle better than I expected.

You should either keep your current size or even make it one size smaller for your winter tires. The narrower the tires, the better. If you dont want to spend a lot, Dunlop Winter Sport M2 is good enough because a RWD MB will not do any better even if you put the most aggressive winter tires on.
For better traction and if you can spend a few extra dollars, you can check out Bridgestone Blizzard or Pirelli Winter 210.

I chose Nokian Hakka 1 for my coupe this winter and they work very well. I switched from my previous Bridgestone Blizzak because the Blizzaks are probably better in their first season but they become absolute cr*p the following seasons... Nokian are made of a harder compound which should last longer. They handle better than the Blizzaks in snow and are quite similar on ice.
