How much did you get the rims for and where? I am also looking to get this setup for my 06 C230 SS but I am deciding whether to get the chrome or the regular silver.

IMO chrome doesnt look good on a mercedes. unless its on an exotic car it just looks like a pimp car (again, this is my opinion )

one couldnt excite me with chrome rims

I'm not a big chrome fan, but they don't look bad for Brabus reps.

Sorry to hear 'bout the bent rim. That definitely sucks. Hope everything works out.

these chromes are ridiculous....hah best part is...I got the first bid price on them cuz some other guy couldnt pay. hahah

i got them all for 599 + 175 to ship not bad if you ask me.

they are amazing..the pictures suck compared ot them...I have a silver SS

c230 05 amg style etc. and i have chrome door shells....which just the perfect mix of chrome, the car looks ridiculous. When I get the final rim back and get them put on..ill do full body pics..to show you..

and btw..I dont like chrome..BUT these got me hands down.

ill keep you updated

Personally I don't like chrome on silver, but to each their own. As for your offsets... et35 WILL NOT fit in the front. you will need at least a 2mm spacer. Brabus/Carlsson/Lorinser recommend et29 in the front, but 30-32 is fine.

I have the exact tires and same wheel sizes with H&R sport springs with no rubbing. The Generals do not have the lip protectors so it leaves a little exposed. Great tires so far, and the price was GREAT!!!!

are you running spacers? I have stock suspension. Thanks man

if so, what spacers are the best. frank said 3mm..but I cant find a good brand in 3mm. I know h and r has 5 mm. it would give me an offset of 30 in the front.

my rims are 35 all around

thanks again

FWIW, I am running 265s on the back of mine with no problems. Stock height, had two adults in back many times. These are Goodyear F1 GSD3 by the way. Yes, the tire does make a difference. A Toyo T1-R, for example, is narrower at the same advertised size as mine. Good luck with the new rims!

Mine are 35 ET all around and I didn't have spacers at first. But then I upgraded my front brakes to c32. Then I used the H&R 5mm to clear the calipers. My spacers came from www.optionimports.com

Thats funny mine fit just fine on my 2004 c230. looked great. then I had to add spacer for the c32 brake set up. still looks great!

i wouldnt go with any statement of jpog ... not because he is wrong, but because his C55 has a slight difference in offset than the 05+ c230's have. in the group buy his fit perfect but the guys with with no c32 or c55 needed spacers - changing the offset

interesting, and you were fine with your normal brakes? I dont know about my brakes since you have a 2004 and I have a 2005. I wonder. If mine fit without spacers I would be shocked and of course happy, but no point in being optimistic to early in the game. lol.

I still have to get my other sent and returned fixed (new rim etc)

my tires will arrive wednesday at the lastest. I hope it all goes well. Sucks bad because I have to wait for that ONE rim to be returned back to me etc.

hopefully by next weekend I will be driving around in my new wheels. Of course pics will be posted.

Rear Tire Wear on Staggered Wheels

Does anybody have this problem? Last week i noticed that my 2 rear tires are wearing out faster than the front. I have 25,000 miles on it now and the front seems to be holding up well, but the rear ones are almost at the tire wear marks.

I have the stock 2005 Michellin tires on them.

Is this normal wear?

A RWD car will wear the rears faster then the fronts...generally thats why you rotate your tires...of course, with staggered tires, you can't. I chew through my rears much more then my fronts and I do not do burnouts and such...just the nature of the beast. @ $250 per rear tire, it does get expensive.

This is what my rears looked like when I changed them...the fronts had about 70% left...so that will give you an idea of the difference between front and rear wear.

25000 on the michelins! I guess we're not talking about the pilot sports. I heard from my dealer to expect about 11,000 on them if I'm lucky.

11,000 miles? that's too low. I think your dealer is pullilng your leg. that's not even one year of driving and you're already changing them? that seems suspicious.

and yes, they are the michellin pilot sport series (stock tires). I wonder if the stock Continentals wear out the same?

Wow, tifosiv122.... that's really worn out. Mine still has the 2 lines down the middle...should still last me another month or so.

thanks guys, glad to hear that this is quite normal.

Mine lasted that long (25,000). Granted, I got a lot more conservative driving after my ticket, but they lasted me a good amount of time. Obviously, I'm replacing them tomorrow w/ new shoes!

I do not have staggered and I do rotate them every 5000 miles and my original tires lasted 13000 miles with normal driving and only a few burnouts when it was new. My next set lasted 28000 miles.

what many people dont recognize ... is how the accelaration chews on your wheels ... rather then the hard braking.

i'd say i drove my old tires in the mid-aggresive range and had about 10k miles on them when i changed wheels with wider tires. the old ones still looked okay and im sure at least another 12k would have been safe.

so depending on your driving style, with nothing special like track day or burnouts they should last somewhere between 20-25k miles

I have the same car as you 05 C230SS, the car came with Pilot Sports.

My rears were worned out completely. Even more worn out than tifosiv122's pictures above (Belive it or not)...well it was worned more evenl...it was to a point where you can hardly see the thread, and if you run fingers accross the tire, you feel where the threads use to go; little bumps. I got 30K miles out of the rears and replaced the rears with Pilot Sports again, since the front still have 50-60% life left at the time. I didn't want to have different tires up front and rear.

I'm at about 36,000 miles now...I have about 40% life up front and 80-90% life at the rear. Hope they all wear out at the same time, and I'm going with performance all-season next time with higher thread life. Summer tires are really expansive. I'm thinking about PZero Nero all-season as replacement.
