i dont have those tires because i dont have the 16" wheels but i would definitly prefer the Michelins over the good year or continentals.

C320 Coupe
Most tires have 10 - 12/32 of tread depth. 8/32 (usable tread depth) *2 = 1/2 inch. An old 235/45-17's will be short than a new 225/45-17's. So as the tire wears, it will become accurate again.

I'll use 235/40/17 instead.

I dont think so....235/40/17 has an overall diameter of 24.4". You should stick in the 25" range.

Question 2003 C230K Sedan Tire brand

Does anyone know what tires come on the C230k... its the same rims as the optional wheel package for the coupe... I saw the car at the NY auto show and they were Continental Contisport Contact 2's which i HIGHLY doubt come on the production car as those are Cup tires and are meant for agressive street and or a small track setup.

They do come with the Continentals, and I had never heard that these were any more aggressive than any of the other high performance tires.

They also come with Michelin Pilot Sports, and maybe Pirellis. Some coupes come with Pirellis, but I'm not sure about the sedan.

Sorry

I was confusing the Contisport Contact 2's with the Pilot sport Cups' Similar tread design.. different purpose.. Im hoping to get conti's or PS' which im promptly taking off and replacing with Continental Contisport Contact Extremes... The tires are AMAZING... Best tire ive ran hands down and ive run damn near them all... S03's PZero Rosso Assymetrico.. PZero Nero's.. even though its an all season it performs as well..

'01 C320 sport tires?

just a couple of newb questions for the 2001 c320 sedan with sport package.

1)i believe the tires that came with the car from the factory was 225/50/16 for the front, but what is the tire size for the back?

2)i think the factory tires that came with the car were michelin pilot sport hx? (please correct me if i'm wrong) i'm looking to replace these tires, and can anyone give me recommendations for better tires in terms of treadlife, performance, and handling for all-season ones for the same or if not cheaper price?

some tires i looked into were the yokohama avs db (i think s2?) and dunlop sp sport a2

thanks for all ur help

They are the same size. Why do you ask? You got different ones on the back?

I believe there were several different brands used from the factory. Just do a search on this forum using terms like Kumho, Yokohama, etc.

tires....

hey could i get some recommendations on new tires? it's about time to replace mine and i really don't know what to get. I DO know i don't really want to spend $230 each to replace the conti's on my C7 wheels.

so what are some lower priced, reasonably sticky, reasonably long wearing tires that you guys have personal experience with?

thx

I agree with Harris.
The Kumho ECSTA Supra's are good to. I have them, and they are fine. They aren't a true performance tire, but they are dang good in the rain, which we have alot of here.. They are priced around 100 a piece

You've missed his requirements: lower priced, reasonably long wearing.

The tires that you're suggesting do not fall within that category.

Kumho! Have them on my 328i, sticky enough (wet or dry), little noisy on first 1-2 miles on freeway but no other problems at all.

I was a bit surprised when I saw mine came with Michelin Pilot Sports, even more surprised when I saw the spare; 16" instead of matching 17"??? Did all of you get 16" spare too? I guess it's better than just a can.

Help with tire fitment

Will 255/35/18 Pirelli supersport p7000 fit the rear of my coupe?
I have lowered my car with H&R spring. The shop told me that i have to put back my stock spring in order to install the wheels, is that true? Pls let me know, thank you very much.

the short answer is yes, but it will depend on your wheel width and offset. I have 18x9 et35 with 255/35/18 on the rear of my C230. It's lowered with the H&R cupkit and I have NO rubbing problems.
