I'm biased, Dunlops have historically treated me fantastic.

Dunlop 9000.

I agree with Das. Go with the Pilots, but check out the S-03's. Those are the only two that I would get.

i'd go w/ tireracks recommendations:
bridgestone SO3
michelin pilot sports (which i have)

i'd also consider the yokohama AVSs

and the toyo proxes t1-s

Another vote for the Dunlop SP9000's, here. I replaced the crappy OEM tires (Bridgestone RE92 Potenzas, blech!) on a previous car with these tires. Wet grip was excellent, dry grip was good, and they were very quiet. They seemed to wear pretty well, too.

I am very happy with the S03's track very well excellent in wet conditions.

My local MD dealers tire distributor even was against the Dunlops saying they follow every groove in the road. I haven't used them so I don't know.

not on your list, but i went with the Kumhho 712's and they are fine. they are as quiet as the stock goodyears.

if road noise is your biggest concern as it was mine, then you might want to consider the Kumho's. I've heard good things about them and have personally seen them on a LOT of cars at Laguna Seca during a track event, so that should tell you something in regards to performance.

No to mention, their about $125 each...

I also have to agree with Spindrome, I think the Kumhos are really good tires. The price is also a great bonus. All my friends are now on Kumhos and Im also going to get a set as soon as my tires run out. I have heard only good stories about the Kumhos and when I went to the track with EvoSport I noticed a lot of the race and street cars all used Kumhos. The EvoSport M3 lightweight which kicked *** also was on Kumhos and won 1st in their class. Congrats to the EvoSport team! I also noticed a Porsche 911 turbo outside was also on Kumhos.

pirelli pzero rosso squirms a bit more than u'd like compared to michelin pilot sport or bridgestone s02/s03. heard the dunlop 9000 are quieter than most max-performance tires, while providing best wet handling in exchange for some loss in dry handling among those tires. i've had bad experiences with pirelli pzero assymetricos, blown out (although paid back by city/contractor) on potholes. bridgestone s03 and michelin pilot sport are the newest raves. michelin also came out with these new pilot sport a/s (all-season, interesting tread design and composition); they're still very expensive cause they just came out, u'd be wise to wait a few months for price to come back down. personally, i like the bridgestone s-02

btw, i still think the bridgestone s-02 look better than the s-03 imho. anyone?

Thumbs up My vote goes to Bridgestone SO3.

My SLK32 came with Pirrelli Rosso and I didn't like them at all. Changed them to SO3 immediately and am very happy with them. Great wet performance and ride.

Have not really tired them on dry pavement as it has been raining a lot in Vancouver, Canada!

Well,

1stBenz, I think you need to check out the weather and road condition where you drive your car most... and if it's your only car and used for commute or leisure car for weekend?

But I like the pilot sport that came with my C7's so far... first set of mich... otherwise... i personally prefer bridgestone or pirelli

one other thing...

Oh... if you don't have to sell your old wheels... and the weather in your area have snow/rain etc. It will be perfect for your winter/non-performance tires

a word on the Khumos... I had them on my last car, and while good for the first few months, the ride quality quickly deteriorated with spirited driving... by the end they were very harsh.

the Yoko AVS and Toyo Proxes are BAD in the rain... without any circumfrential groove, they will be hydro-plane city... also, yokohamas are the japanese equivalent to Pirellis... great handling, zero treadlife (from previous experience as well)

There is another tire not mentioned here...Michelin Pilot A/S...it is an allseason based off the pilot tire...supposed to be a very good tire, if you want a high performance all season tire. Just something else to consider.

its very good for the price.
its about 70% performance of top of the line tires (Pilot, S02, SP9000) and excellent treadwear, only half the price

Scylas,

Let us know how you like them. I was planning on going with the same tire in a year.

I am running a set of them now I blew through a set of P zero's in 5500 miles. The kumho are holding up ok I cannot fault them on performance when price is factored in. I'm going to try nitto 555's next

Definitely worth it!

I just got them on my car 2 weeks ago.

very quiet and performance is good enough for me. like i said on a previous post, i seen a lot of kumho's on the track, so that should say something about em.

at 1/2 the price and twice the treadwear of S03's, Pilots, etc., you cannot go wrong.

I wanted a quiet, high performance, all-season tire (in this order) and Kumho 712's definitely fit the bill...

All my friends have now changed to Kumhos. My next set Im getting Kumhos too. I have heard great things about them and the price is just too good for such a good quality tire. Also, I've seen most cars on the track use them so I know they cant be that bad. I hate my tires and I cant wait to change them to Kumhos.

kuhmos are korean brand. i've heard nothing but praise simply because they are the best bang for the buck. may not possess the same prowress as the s-02/s-03 or pilot sports, but u just can't beat the price. for one set of the french/japanese tires, u can get two sets of kuhmos...almost

What brand tires come on C230K with C7 pkg?

My car is supposed to hit the port on 20 March, so I'm biding my time here until it arrives. I love this forum! Pls bear with me...

What brand of tires come on the C7 pkg? Continental? Which ones? Are they V or W rated? I thought they were going to be V's but a friend said they were W's? I'd like to know the treadwear, etc.

Thanks!
