im wiring my V1 detector, it is attached by suction cups to the windshield to the right of the rear view mirror. ive placed wire from unit across the headliner and down the A pillar to the fuse box area by left knee. ive tapped into 12v at the cig liter. my question is, how do i get the wire across the dash to the cig liter??? thanx, mike

Since it'll be attached near the rear view mirror, why not take power from something nearby like the Command SOS harness inside the interior light console on the ceiling (probably a good option if your car isn't currently using or subscribed to the Command SOS option). Or maybe tap into the sunroof since its only get power when ignition is on.
glyn, great idea, which wire do i use.... what color wire or fuse #....? ie. which one is ignition activated? i was thinking of cutting the correct wire and then using a cylindrical splice that is crimped at both ends, unless u have an easier way to connect to fuse block .? ie. solder on a spade lug or something like that. once i get the 12v+ tapped i just have to find a suitable ground bolt, again any suggestion appreciated as most connectors i see are contacting 2 plastic peices, thanx, mike

To answer mlg's (Mike's) pm here:
> "the sunroof or sos sound like good ideas atho space is tight up there. which wire is the easiest to access and in what bundle is it in and what color is it? thanx, mike i was going to cut wire and then splice the wire in with a cylindrical connector that u crimp on bith ends unless u have a better suggestion, laso what screw/bolt up there is my ground? thanx a bunch, mike"
It's best that you use a multimeter to find yourself the wire that power on whenever ignition is on. If you don't have a multimeter, a 12v electrical tester would do. Or you can go ghetto with a 12v lightbulb and some wires. If you're SOS button is non-functional, I'd use the wiring harness for that. That'd be better then stealing power from a sunroof motor that's prone to break anyways.
