anyone familiar with the ~2006 add on Garmin GPS?

Wondering if anyone has had any direct experience with the dealer add on Garmin GPS that was offered back around 2006. It was a MB branded Street Pilot. See attached photo for reference.

I am basically wondering how permanent the installation of these things are. Does the mount require any drilling? Can the unit (including mount) be removed easily without any damage showing?

FYI: I'm not looking to add one of these. I'm looking at a car that has this already installed and I'd like to remove it if I get the car.

How much does that cost?

You can retrofit a OEM COMAND unit for a fair price.

just buy a regular garmin and use the flexible friction mount garmin has it conforms to the dash and uses a temporary tacky adhesive.

This is the one I have. I have 3 forms of GPS now lol my HU, Garmin, and phone lol

I agree, could be a clamp on mount. Take a good look at it before you buy.

Sorry i can't be of much help
